Flames has won the night before in Calgary, this was the rematch in rexall.
1st goal of the game...and came after a massive line brawl 28 seconds into the game. Also Lanny scrapped Paul Coffey this night.
Most of these guys were behind my time and I'm sure they're better choices, but I threw a vote Michael Stone's way just because he was such a breath of fresh air in 2016-17.
When Stone was acquired, that was the first time I felt the Flames had a complete defensive group in years.

If Paul Ranheim had 1 game at 26 he would still be a better place to put a vote than Stone.

Reichel is obviously the most talented but I have bad memories of him from his choking to his contract hold out. Might spoil my ballot.
Yup, he could’ve been a Flames hero, as he had Game 7 OT chances against Vancouver in 1994 which he made McLean look like a hero, and I think two crossbars against SJ Game 7 1995, one I think late in the third and the better chance in OT. I want to say he had chances in Game 7 vs the Oilers in 1991 as well.
Then he held out the next year after the SJ loss.
And his shootout goal sunk Canada in 1998.
Good riddance. Useless without the puck, scared come playoff time.
I’ll vote Nilson. Inches away from Flames legend, Game 6 OT winner for the Cup after tying the game it late in the second period. When this didn’t go in, and I was right on the goal line, after Khabibulin looked back, it was clear not meant to be.

Game 1 Detroit OT winner and big early game goals against SJ. Integral with Iginla on the “Shift”, in Game 5 Tampa, watch thier chemistry. In fact, Iginla said it was one of the most skilled guys he’s played with.
Good enough for me.

loved Mel Bridgman ... Marcus Nilson played a solid secondary role for the team in the '04 drive, Dennis Wideman was controverseial but a top four defenseman for years.
But tenure and production mean this has to be Robert Reichel.
Didn't love the player, but he did more with #26 than any one else.
He was Awesome but that shot on McLean hurt his Flames history. He was such a good sniper. Don’t forget when Canada lost to the Czechs in the shootout he was the only on to score on Roy. I just wish that shot was taken on the Canucks and not Canada. Still he was very very good!
