It's like whenever I go on eBay seems like for the past few years, everything I search is more than what I can buy it new for from stores.
Oh one thing I did find out, hybrid flower island works great for blue roses if rose is one of your native flowers. I went to an island with all orange and pink roses, grabbed a bunch of orange ones and set them up to breed and one of my first new ones was a blue rose. Not sure if I was super lucky but that seems a lot faster than the 9 step process I've seen elsewhere.

I got a hybrid tulip island the other day. They were pink, orange and black. I transplanted them to my island and I’m getting tons of peacock butterflies.
Nice I haven't got a coelacanth yet. Was it raining? I read it has to be raining.
Update is nice, I liked being able to get a few more flower species, and the shrubs look neat. Also got a DIY for hedges after doing the special Nook Miles+ task.
And my hot item was dumbells.. cost 10 iron to craft, but sold for 15,000 each! Made almost 400,000K burning through a bunch of my iron.
Flick came around just in time too, got another bamboo island, use the bamboo to craft fences and put those on the rocks to block the roach spawns, after that tarantulas spawn so fast sometimes I got two at once.
Starting to worry less about money and resource gathering, so putting some effort into arranging my island a bit better, mostly would like to have a really nice area for the museum and maybe have my house on one of the big hills on the back.
Glad to see the update and that they're going to keep pushing out content.

Is the fence on the rock a bug to get the roaches to stop spawning?
Spent some time fishing off the dock today and got my tuna and marlin. Took about 40 fish food to get both. I think they are gone at the end of the month.

Yes it was raining. It’s been pretty constant the past few days.
I’ll be glad when tarantulas are gone. They can be fun to farm on random islands but they make me anxious to explore my island at night. They come from out of nowhere. Hopefully scorpions aren’t as bad.
The update is nice. The art museum should be pretty cool.
I’ve been working on my island layout too, putting in paths and planting lots of flowers. I wish I knew you could only have 8 bridges and inclines each. I would have planned a little better.

Not sure if it's a bug, you can put stuff on rocks in your own island too, but it's probably not intentional (you can't place furniture for example on a mystery island) so it may get fixed.
I read today that data mining shows they changed the spawn rates of bugs.. maybe to try and stop the farming of bugs for Bells?
But I don't see how that'll help that much.
I also read they changed the monthly interest rate and limited the max you could get at a time from it, presumably to combat time travelers from using interest to get Bells.

I'm way behind playing than most, but I'm playing at my 6 year old's pace, and trying to help him move things along. Hilarious and fun game though.
Funny story though. It seems for the past week, every time we play and explore, I rustle a tree with a wasp nest, and they chase him down and bite him. Every night. He proceeds to ugly cry every time it happens, and I'm trying to tell him it's all pretend and he can just take medicine to make it go away. lol. It gets me every time though.
Apparently if you invite people to your island and have them water your flowers it increases the chances of them to reproduce. From 5% all the way up to 80% if 5 or more different people water them. They'll sparkle with a different larger gold sparkle if that's done.
That's a lot of effort for not that great a payoff, but interesting.

Yup, I tried it tonight and it wouldn't let me either.
They really did nerf the spawn rates of tarantulas and Atlas moths too, I can usually fill my inventory with them on a stripped down normal island (maybe 7-8 spiders and the rest moths), but only got 2 spiders, 7 months and the rest tiger beetles. There's only a 500 difference (or I guess 750 with Flick) between the moths and tiger beetles, but still, why does it matter so much how much money one has in a single player game that it has to be nerfed?!

I got a bamboo island and I filled up on tarantulas but it took almost an hour. I got bit a lot because they were sneaking through the holes more than usual. I needed to get a big haul and Nook’s Cranny is closed tomorrow.
I don’t get the need to nerf it either. I get lowering the interest rate to dissuade time travelling but I don’t see what’s wrong with filling up on certain bugs.
I just had a “Giant Water Bug” island. Super weird. Not as lucrative as tarantulas but much easier to catch and didn’t have to fool around getting easy ways for them to spawn. Came home with like 40,000 bells worth for ten minutes of catching. My apologies to the Nook brothers for when they open that box in the morning.
