I loved Ozark. The only gripe I have is how are these people protected from the Cartel. It only seems to be the family and a few people. Even the old lady doesn't seem to have that much "muscle" to back her up.
I never understood why the cartel continues to need these people.

Perhaps we should spoiler this for people who haven't watched. I'm just starting the new season. But up until this point:
Spoiler!
The cartel needs the Birds due to them being the best at laundering massive amounts of money.

If you casually watched, but enjoyed the first couple seasons of Ozark. The 3rd season is great. I'm not sure if it's because the characters are established now, or is they've tightened up the story telling, but man it's a great show.
I have "Breaking Bad" reactions to it, where my character allegiances shift from episode to episode.
A washed up actor best known for playing the title character in the 1980s detective show “Mindhorn” must work with the police when a serial killer says that he will only speak with Detective Mindhorn, whom he believes to be real.

Ozark season 3 was amazing. Though, not knowing how long it will be until the next season, I feel a tad unsatisfied. I would have liked to see a few storylines wrapped up a bit more.
I thought the dude who played the brother stole the season. That was some great acting. He had to hit on it too otherwise without a convincing performance I think that storyline would have been annoying.

Took a while for the point of his character to be revealed but the journey to get there was delightful.

Yup, agreed about Ben. His acting was superb and very believable. Another good one I thought was Omar Navarro. Gentle, yet ruthless when he needs to be. I also liked Ruth's insults calling Helen a giant and Wendy a bitch wolf.
I enjoyed Ozark S3. It is definitely an improvement in story telling and pacing from S2. They have found a good balance between building tension and moving the story although things are starting to become predictable. Also this show has me reaching for the volume controls more than any other between all the quiet conversations and Julia Garner dropping screeching F bombs.
