This was the first NHL game I ever remember and the game that made me a Flames fan for life.
5 years old at the time, I remember after every Flames win from this game on, my family would go out driving throughout our neighbourhood with the windows rolled down screaming at the top of our lungs as we waved the Flames flag.

It's an experience I've been waiting 75% of my life to relive again. I cannot wait to watch this.

Also, one thing that has always been on my mind is I remember in Game 1 of the Finals that our first or second goal was a very weird one (something like the puck was between Khabibulin's pad and the net and no one could really tell it was in at first).

Does anyone have access to the video of it? I've searched and searched over the years for the video but have never found footage to Game 1 highlights. I don't know why I'm so eager to see it but for some reason I'm dying to.

We need a new Iggy. Man did he show up in big games. That type of player is definitely what the current iteration is missing (and a Kipper)

Maybe this is controversial, but these are the nicest uniforms the Flames have ever worn.

When the Canucks tied it in the dying seconds I was SO mad, "of course, here we go again..".
I went outside during the intermission and just stared at the moon, cursing the hockey gods for dishing out more excruciating heartbreak. Didn't realize how long I was in that state for and OT had already started, next thing I knew my roommate came out saying we won. I figured it was still the intermission and he was just messing with me, I told him to #### off. He said it again so I bolted downstairs to see a victorious Iggy getting interviewed by Scott Oake, I can't believe I missed the series winning goal for the first time my team finally won a series!!

Was still a glorious moment, and I was sure to catch Gelinas' next series winner live. What a run..

Felt exactly how you felt. Turned off tv at intermission before overtime for a few minutes but then turned it on again fearing the worst was definitely going to happen only to see...

Man, watching all the clutching, grabbing, and blatant shenanigans that these guys got away with is pretty amazing. Also, the players appear a bit slower than they are today.

Lots if hooking and grabbing from both sides. Also when on power play you start on your own end.

Gotta say, it's pretty enjoyable watching a Flames squad that actually showed up for big games/playoffs.

Fun fact even though the game is being played 16 years ago not one player for either team is still playing hockey professionally anywhere.
