A father dies and a son feels his ghost is in the house. Mother attempts to assuage the boy's fears by selling the father's ghost on E-Bay.

There are a tonne of haunted items on ebay for sale, or at least there used to be when I was an ebayer.

I saw someone selling a piece of wood that had a spirit in it before. I think it went for like 700 bucks. Haunted toys and photos are popular ones too.

I've heard of people selling their mother's to make a buck, but their father's ghost??? Man, e-bay has a lot of goofy stuff being old on it lately.

I thought there was a huge thing about this, and fake items on ebay. I understand what the mother is trying to do. I thought this would be along the same sort of lines as the Grilled Cheese Sandwich (face of the Virgin Mary

No one would sell strange things on e-bay if there wasn't people buying them. So the question is -- who buys this stuff? Who would pay $78 for a "ghost"?

I have read a rumor on the internet that not all ebay bids are real!!! I know, shocking!

The other rumor I have heard is that some people have plenty of disposable income!

Does this sort of thing really warrant CNN reporting? If it was the first time CNN was reporting on a strange ebay sale, that would be fine. But it seems like every couple days there's a story on CNN about the virgin mary in a grilled cheese sandwich or something like this. Maybe it just p*sses me off because it's such lazy journalism. Man, that would be a sweet job: chief of the Associated Press bureau for wacky ebay sales.

Okay, but I think its safe to assume at least one bid is real and there is still someone willing to pay for a ghost. So I would still like to know what kind of person would pay money for a ghost.

And I don't care how much disposable income he/she has; I think pretty well anyone reading this can agree there's a lot better stuff $78 could be spent on.

Lots of people buy Novelty Items/DVD's/Ipods/Whatever just so they can show off how "kewl" they are to their equally ######ed friends.

I remember reading a Ebay product profile for a haunted/demonic rubber duck...

Demon Ducky!

EDIT: Found the link.
