I want to say it was Tom Lysiak for Atlanta at #2 overall.
For Calgary... Dan Quinn? Was it #15 overall or something?

No for both. Your second number was closer than the first (but both off).
EDIT!!!! Actually, I’m a little off there. On the first, you have the position right for Lysiak. But you are one year off (he was year two).

Good - now, how many players out of Calgary’s first draft played at least one game for the Flames? Cyr was one.
Bonus - what Flames draft year saw every draftee eventually play at least one game for the Flames?

OK - not very Flames related - but definitely my favourite hockey trivia question, ever:
Who are the only three NHL players to register more than 100 assists in a season?

2011 had every player make it to the NHL (Baertschi, Granlund, Wotherspoon, Gaudreau, and Brossoit). I don't think Brossoit played any games for the Flames though.

Crap, I forgot about Brossoit, that was the answer. Though it wasn’t the most draftees in one year ever to make it to the NHL (because there were only 5 picks that year). What was the most from one year?

Most people that you would ask would not know that Bobby Orr was the first player (forward or defense) to get 100+ assists... because it’s hard to believe!
That’s what makes it a great trivia question.

He was a member of an NHL team that won some Stanley Cups. His son was drafted by the Flames.
Who is this player?
