Ownership should match the Gofundme and somehow donate excess cash to the food bank. They have to go over and above now, and maybe that's a strong lesson.
Kind of have a feeling they're going to get crucified in the court of public opinion if they do nothing.

I try not to make too many hot takes so I would be surprised if I was that vocal about that.

GODDAMNIT NO
the owners should pay their goddamned salaries in full and let the employees split the go fund me because then are literally worth billions of dollars and that amount of money if completely insignificant go them.
It's too bad Mr. Libin is 90 and has lost his sight and hearing but maybe he should empower someone to look after his business interests and legacy at this point.
Pay your more vulnerable and lowest paid staff!
This is madness. You can pay brouwer 2 million dollars to go away but you can't pay a 55 year old usher a couple Grand so they can stay inside?
The flames owners look like garbage because they are garbage.

Absolutely brutal by Flames management. I've defended this team through lots, but in the case I hope the blow back on the owners is huge.

Net HRR is split between owners and players, and net HRR will go down significantly with a month of games and entire playoffs missed.

Yes, I thought you referring to event staff being paid.
If there is a loss of revenue they will lose money.

Still no walking this back yet?
This team is honestly hard to cheer for more times than not, and they keep coming up with new and creative ways to make that true.

My family used to have seasons tickets when we lived in Calgary, and I've maintained my fandom out here in BC since, but this is it for me.
I understand if people live in Calgary it's one thing, but they don't make it easy for those outside the market. This is over the top, though.
It shows a callousness from the top of the organization that I just can't cheer for.
Bring on Seattle

The recent growth of the GoFundMe seems to be more from everyday people now, not the $5k bumps from athletes (which are awesome). It really chokes me up to see people donating $5 or $10, as I'm sure for some of those people that is a meaningful amount. People may actually go without in order to help others who are more in need.
Great work everyone.

He's been hit the hardest then, he lost $460,000,000 last week.

Im actually surprised the NHL has not stepped in here. Bettman hates bad publicity and this thing is gaining ton of bad press.

Rinaldo's a keeper... not a goal keeper, so don't get your hopes up... just a regular kinda keeper.

Surprised Chucky hasn't kicked in yet. This kind of thing seems like it would be right up his alley.

Like us, the players are likely wondering where off ice leadership is.

Also, maybe Monny's too OCD to donate an odd number, but he didn't want to go to 6K and disrespect his Captain.
(I kid, I kid... although I could actually see it happening. If anyone on this team has to turn around three times before locking/unlocking/locking/unlocking/locking their car door, I can see it being him.)

It’d be nice to see Murray Edwards donate to the GoFundMe. Even $50 or something.
