The Islanders too on a limited count this season, more often in the past seasons.

Edmonton looking like they are going to make the playoffs this year, in total defiance of the natural order and God's will. God looking to release a plague on mankind to prevent it from happening.

So if the season gets cancelled, will the ensuing loss of revenue impact next year's cap?

I think they will suspend for now, if it takes more than a month or so to get things cleared up, I think that they'll just have to cancel the season. Shortening the offseason is likely not an acceptable solution.

We'll find out in the early afternoon, but if I were to speculate - it will not happen.

Nothing about this is fair though.

It’s wildly different.

In normal times, if you miss a flight you are out of luck. If your flight is cancelled by the airline, you get your money back.

I’m not suggesting Bettman should reverse all trades, because that’s practically impossible. And nothing about what is happening is actually fair.

But here’s a question. Would you expect a partial refund for your season tickets if games get cancelled due to an official government order and league had no choice but to comply? Is that different than if you fell sick and couldn’t go to the game?

I kind of get the logic even though nothing likely to happen.

The best answer is "maybe". The CBA tries to set the cap based on the previous year's HRR, but it also anticipates significant unexpected changes in revenue. The league and union could agree that the revenue drop this year is not likely to be repeated and maintain the cap on the belief fans will come back in the fall. In fact, thanks to contract situations, they almost have to do that - even if they expect much higher escrow as a result.

So what would you rather we do? Run around panicking or behave like chickens with our heads cut off?

The impacts on the sport and it's underlying business is actually a fascinating topic. And one that we can talk about; your permission is not required.

Pretty solid indication that they expect to postpone.

I assume it's been posted in the thread already, but Dreger also said earlier that the league's conference call is expected to be at 11AM our time. So probably by 12 or 1 we'll get the official announcement.

I wonder if a compliance buyout is an option
