I think its its funny how paranoid ever one is about coronavirus. Its low as of today as h1n1 and sars and it could climb higher but the majour difference is we have social media that buld fear amongst the populous. There are many that contracted cvod19 and have made a complete recoverey. As the be expected only the old , very young and those with weakened immune systems are experiencing weakened immune systems are having difficulty with this virus as with any other virus. Nothing ro see here really but the access to more platforms of media are really stoking the fire.

Yeah, I’m not optimistic that the playoffs will happen. If I had to guess they’ll call off the season tomorrow.
Having said that, on the off chance they happen, I’d be surprised if the NHL used anything other that points. I think teams line Calgary could rightfully argue that it’s not fair they had to play extra games and the other teams could have easily lost their games at hand. I don’t think there’s any precedent in the league to use the percentages as a deciding factor.
It does suck that the one year we might see a Battle of Alberta is the one year the league likely cancels.

I’m not worried about myself getting the virus, I’m worried about getting it and passing it on to my 85 year old grandfather or my 75 year old diabetic grandfather.
Completely irresponsible and ridiculous to think there’s “nothing to see here”. Sure, I’ll likely survive but I’m worried that at-risk family members may catch it. Those old people and people with weak immune systems are still people’s family and I for one don’t like seeing my family members die.

All I can get

I have a friend with family in Wuhan and the quarantine has been over six weeks already. With that sort of timeline, I doubt we see playoffs happening. Some parts of North America will be hit harder than others of course, but it makes it difficult for the league to operate.

Nothing to see here refers to it really is no different than every other virus. You and I just need to make sure we don't visit out vulnerable family members for a month as the virus take up to 14 days to incubate and if you show symptoms another 12 to 15 days to be clean. Talk to them on the phone for a month or so and be sfe after that your probably good. Of tour worried at putting tour "at risk " family members in danger just wait a month or so to see them.

It's very different from every other virus.
Humans have no innate resistance or immunity to this.

Hear this many times over with every pandemic. Stay home if sick . Like every other virus those suffering are again the old , very young and with comprimised immune systems . It has been recorded it takes 12 days for your body to produce anti bodies to fight md destroy the virus. I refuse to buy in the media hysteria. Just like every other virus the deaths are being caused buy the 3 reasons already laid out.

And how the hell do you know when you caught it? answer? you don't. it's called an incubation period for reason! not only could you pass it to your vulnerable family members, you could pass it to a 100 friends and coworkers who would pass it to theirs.
Pandemic, no vaccine...get it? Jesus

W% is Wins/GP. The fact that Edmonton has 5 more points than Vancouver is skewed by Edmonton's OT losses.

Well guys if the season is over and the Flames make the playoffs by points percentage and get in by the skin of their teeth, we can rest assured knowing that they've made the playoffs in consecutive seasons for the first time in 11 years!
Although if there are no playoffs this year... the streak continues?
God what a rotten turn of events this whole thing is.

Just like every other virius.
Last year it was zika. Hell influenza was at pandemic stages in 2009 . The difference in most of these viruses is we have more media thats easily consumable . Media looking for ratings is the difference. Yes the virus contagious with no vaccine but only the elderly ,very young and people with compromised immune systems are having difficulties. You have a very low chance of having a sevre complication. 15 % chance that is . And that is no different with any other virus. Calm down ...

Yes, if you actually look at the history of break outs it does happen every year with in a certian region with evey 3 years for a world wide for cause of concern. Just depends on the media reporting it but if you do your own fact checking their ar large portions of the world that go through this every year and then every few years it makes it out of those regions that make our media take note .

This is not a media invention- check out Italy. They are already triaging their infected and cannot cope with the strain on health care resources.
This isn’t “just the flu”. It has something like a 20 times higher mortality rate across all age groups. If it plays out like it’s feared to, you will know someone who dies of it in this outbreak. And it’s not “in a certain region”. Germany expects 70% of the population will be exposed. Again, see Italy, or the Seattle area.

3.6% mortality rate is what tour trying to say. That's the official number. And again so far its been the very elderly and very young and the people with compromised immune systems in that number. There alredy releasing the majority that suffered from it go as they have already revovered from it with no sysmptoms.
