I understand that, but as a traditionalist you would know that the league didn’t always have 4 rounds of best of seven. And not likely to in the near future with added teams and games.

Play some best of three or five to get down to top 8 teams and I’d be fine personally. Beats the hell out of no playoffs.

The reality is that this is a novel virus, no one is immune to it and its impact is not fully understood.

Was McDavid tested for Corona? He played with the flu, but isn’t the flu just the second phase of Corona? Cold -> Flu -> Pneumonia?

Money always helps...you don't think McDavid could get faster/better care than you or I? He already does

I feel strongly that the NHL will suspend games very soon. More and more local governments like in San Jose and Columbus will ban large crowds and this will be the end of play.

Other than the lockout year, the only other time the Stanley Cup hasn’t been awarded was in 1919 - because of the Spanish Flu pandemic.

So, there is precedent.

Yeah my guess is still the regular season is done in the next day or two.

Depending on how the situation plays out in the weeks leading up to the planned playoff start the first full week of April, the league will figure out who makes the playoffs, the format (if it changes at all), and of course, firstly, if there will even be playoffs, but won't make that final call yet.

A lot of things to consider, of course.

Am I naive to think I that you can quarantine every single person that needs to be in an arena starting tomorrow, resume play with minimal staff and players that are deemed in the clear, play out what you can salvage with empty arenas?
