Nah, we'll fail at keeping it under control for some period - then adopt China-like draconian shut downs.

NHL seeing this as a chance to scoop up basketball-deprived viewers.

Probably been brought up before, but in light of the NBA tonight, maybe the NHL gets all teams to equal GP for those in the playoff hunt in the next days, then call of the regular season at that point.
Playoffs would still start at same time, with the teams that were in playoffs as of the shut down.

I don’t see the NHL suspending unless a player contracts it.

The fact that a player (and surely/inevitably more than one) actually have the virus kind of supersedes any notion that LeBron's comments impacted this decision.

How does the draft lottery work if the season is done? Does every team get a chance at first overall?

If the season is cancelled or suspended I wonder what that will do for the draft lottery

Kinda hope F1 follows suit. I'll be so choked to not get to watch, but especially being international with some teams having hundreds of members and fans travelling in from hot spots around the world, it definitely makes sense

When would a hypothetical playoff be? Remember player contracts end July 1.

They'd probably go off points percentage

I assume they'll just do what they always do. Give first overall to whichever team Taylor Hall is on.
