Not sure why some are blaming Rittich for the loss when Vegas has a high chance of winning and the Flames just played like crap and pretty much lost the game in the first half of the game. The 4th goal was tipped and most goalies nowadays go down on the butterfly position on their knees. Talbot does exactly the same thing. The other goalie didn't do that great either, but the team in front of the other goalie was a frickin way better team!

They're better off tanking it for a ~5% chance at Lafreniere than trying their luck against the almighty Oilers or Canucks?

You realize either is an infinitely better matchup than Colorado.

Legitimately could have a free pass to go a couple rounds deep, which is what this core needs to experience.

It was supposed to be because he was taking a step to improve his two way game and physicality. I don't see either happening, personally. He looks the same defensively as last season and other than a few games in October he looks just as passive and disinterested in physical hockey as any other year.

Now without the points, though.

I beg to differ - I didn't think she was all that good at all, although she was more lively through the latter half of the second period and into the 3rd. I always like her for analysis and interviews with players and coaches. She should replace Eric Francis and put some intelligence back into hockey.

agreed, i don't see any change at all outside of being a whole lot worse than last year in every facet of the game.

that whole line though. Hard to see where Monahan's struggles being or end in relation to Gaudreaus.

Last year monahan shot 16.1%, this year 13.3. He's taken about 25 less shots.

Gaudreau had 33 goals this time last year. This year he has 18. Is it him, or is it Monahan?

I can't make heads or tails of it.

We are a mediocre or worse franchise in this league and it doesn’t look like it will change.

First round loss. Draft a guy who doesn’t pan out... rinse wash repeat

This ownership won't allow this team to suck bad enough in order to get great odds on a #1 overall, what this team needs is a GM that can recognize when a player can't play half a season at full speed and with balls enough to make mid season trades to make our team better.(Stone anyone) Treliving is like his father, he has to win 100% or it doesn't happen.

Trading a coaster on your team mid season sends a real message...perform like a pro or move on.

I'd say his feel for the game is perfectly fine, especially if you're going to use "didn't play his 4th line guys a lot" as a water mark. I'm fine with any coach that shortens the bench when down a few goals.

Excuse me? This was the first time VGK has won a game in Calgary since 2017, and they have been blown out in every other visit since then. "Had their way" my ass.

How many times this year are we going to continue to say "learn from it and move on"
I feel like that's the moto posted up in the dressing room this year.

Down 3-0 - You dont come back from this in the playoffs.

Flames fighting from behind constantly, I heard some stat this morning that said the Flames have NOT held a lead from start to finish @ home since October...

Even if we do make the playoffs this year, I fear this team is on course for another disappointing result. Just too many uninterested passengers on this team, its hard to watch and its the only thing I watch these days

The Flames are 3-8 all time vs the Knights. 3-2 at home.

All of the Flames "success" against the Knights, save one phoned in performance from MAF & the rest of his team, has been against Malcolm Subban.

To suggest the Flames are on equal footing is to ignore the obvious.

Sorry ... no game story folks.

Combination of City Hockey Championships and my son's 18th birthday.

Sounds like I'm lucky I didn't see the game!

If the plan was to face adversity down the stretch, they're really turning up the dial with these heartbreaking, last minute losses. Even if the Flames weren't the better team last night, they played well enough to at least earn a point.

By the end of the regular season, hopefully this so-called soft team will be so battle-tested and steel-willed that they won't get even remotely rattled in a seven game series

They played fairly well after the first 9 minutes and a very unlucky deflection torpedoed the game.

There are positives available from what happened (they played the first placed team and fought back from a 3-0 deficit to tie), but you will not find them appreciated here.
