This team needs wins and this team plays a bit more confident in front of Talbot since the ASG basically.

Hm. Did you see all of the stuff that leaked through Talbot last game? He got really lucky.

I didn’t like Rittich’s first goal tonight, didn’t have good position for the rebound

But the second goal? Cross slot one timer. What’s he supposed to do on that?

I thought he was the better goalie tonight but not the luckier

Ward is good at leaning on the right players in the first 55 minutes of games.

The last 5 is where all previously imployed logic is lost, from player deployment to time out usage, or lack thereof.

Thought Lucic was an absolute beast tonight, loved his game. Really hope Hanifin is OK too. Vegas was the better team tonight; really would have liked to have gotten a point though since we tied it up late. Onto the Islanders on Wednesday. Get a win and this homestand looks promising.

It isn’t how they play that bugs me. I wish the flames were that consistent and tenacious . It’s the expansion draft they were gifted from the start and their instant success and ability to have assets to trade this early. Add in the fact that Mcnabb is dirty,
Marchessault is a d***he on and off the ice and carrier is a plug=dislike.

Wow. Was just following the score and saw it had gone from 3-2 late to 5-3 final. I didn't realise at the time the Flames had tied the game only to lose the lead shortly after on a softy. This team is so frustrating to cheer for.

Yup.

Even if Rittich manages to not be the reason you lose, Talbot right now is showing the ability to be the reason you might win.

That option should win out every time in a playoff race, unless the guy you're starting falls off a cliff.

I feel bad for my kids. So excited when the Flames completed the comeback and tied it up...only to be crushed seconds later. And then I have to make it seem like its all a-ok even though I'm seething on the inside.

Lehner was pushed the same direction Backlund was skating, man

You can’t push the goalie out of the crease and then score

* Forbort’s strong stick when the puck is rattling around behind Talbot helps too

Loved her humility, I value that trait in people so much, especially in a professional setting. Would love to see her in a colour position as play by play takes a lot of practice.

"Well actually that was a pretty useless stat wasn't it? But that's how my brain works". That was excellent. 95% of broadcasters are intent on presenting themselves in the best possible light they can, I love chill on air personalities that don't take themselves too seriously.

I actually didn't realize the gap had narrowed this much.

Backlund is 3 points back of Monahan.

Unless the top line gets shaken up soon, we're destined for another first round disappointment - if we get there of course. Whenever we play against a team with the intensity of the Knights, all they do is shut down Johnny and Monahan goes into hide and seek mode. Lindholm is the only one of the three with any defensive IQ and when Monahan eventually gets back to defend (he's not slow - he just skates in installments) his inability in his own end essentially puts us on the PK.

I would like to see him traded, he's great sniper, but in today's game you need a strong, fast, two way No 1 centre. They don't grow on trees and we would have to give up a Kings ransom, but without one we will continue to be first round fodder.

The team is playing well and people are ready to write them off because of an absolutely flukey bounce?

They didn’t deserve to win this game and still went toe to toe with a really good team and only lost because of a terribly unlucky bounce.

This won’t be the last game they lose this year. Just focus on winning the next one and continue rolling on.

And Vancouver lost so they are still in control for a divisional playoff spot...nobody is running the table

This team would be better off to try to get lucky on getting lafreniere than to expect to compete in the next 5 years. Mediocre flames are mediocre as they have been since ~1991
