To those of you saying "hopefully they learn from this." I got news. They have been doing this for way too long to learn. This is what they are.

And what game are we at FFS? A good team should be fine tuning their system and playing complete games to get ready for the playoffs. I believe the effort is mostly there but this team doesn't know what to do for large parts of every game.

Oh well. Off to the next game to see what happens.

Chill out guys. They weren't going to go undefeated on the home stand with the inconsistency here, or the rest of the way. Have to absorb the inevitable bumps in this stretch run. You just hope there is more smooth sailing than not.

Don't worry, I hate Vegas too.
Giving Nashville two points instead of 0, now also getting 0 points instead of at least 1, is bad. If the Flames miss the playoffs, or end up being wildcard#2 playing in the central - these are the kinds of games you look back at.

Gotta lean more on Talbot from here on out.
The frustrating part is that he made a few really good saves and was solid for the most part after letting in the first 3 goals but it's always a few episodes a game where he's out of position or unnecessarily scrambling that lead to goals.

But they are not their best goal scorers in this game though, you go with your hot hands in the game.

So what do people think about Lehner?

He was beaten cleanly on two shots, to both of which he was square, and that were not deflected

That is beyond dumb. Holy small sample size Batman.

Your best goal scorers are your best goal scorers. It doesn’t change hourly.

The Knights were shutout last game. Is that a part of fine tuning their system, having all but one or two things figured out?

You can't win every game. So, in the ones you don't win, how do you look? Cause that's important. What they did in Tampa and then today in not their best outings could be seen as encouraging, as they hung around in both and didn't go away. Even had a shot of pulling them out with another bounce or two. That's encouraging, no? Or you can easily look at everything glass empty every time they lose and say the sky is falling.

I see progression, even if they're not there yet. It's way better now than the 6-0 shutouts and 8-3 games between november and january.

Improvement is not a linear process.

No coach in this league would sit Lindholm and Monahan for Dube and Lucic with the net empty.

That’s way too pessimistic view. This is an inexperienced core that has plenty of learning and experience that can be gained. The Flames aren’t in the spot we’d like them to be but do ignore they’ve probably started to play their best in the past two weeks down the stretch vs what happened last year is selling them short,

One positive that I can draw from this game is the "2nd" line. I've kind of viewed them as a fake 2nd line. Or the best of two 3rd lines.

They've proven that they're for real. Against the tight checking Blue Jackets and now the Knights, they got better as the game went on. I've been nothing but impressed with their 200ft game. Aside from Tkachuk, the name recognition isn't flashy at all, but those guys are for real.

It's too bad, aside from Gaudreau, the top line isn't playing like a top line.

Flames are a weak team.

It's funny how folks here think the flames are even in the stratosphere as the knights. A playoff series would be more lobsided than the avs series.

I realize that the flames d were a man down but man they looked terrible. Giordano, Brodie, forbort were fugly.

I think he often makes up for those kind of goals with some spectacular saves as well, but we didn't see that as much tonight.

Still, there's a reason teams are not willing to commit to him long-term. Not sure what it is, but I get the sense he's doomed to be a journeyman starter the rest of his career. A stop-gap measure.

Yes they would seen it many times, coach goes with players that are feeling it. I swear some of you don't watch hockey at all just sit around thinking of ways to defend failure.

Hard to win when your 1C and 1RW aren’t playing
Backlund's line played pretty good as well.

I hear what you are saying and I agree, Rittich needs to be better. Still, Lehner was .864 tonight. Goalie struggle.
