'Lighthouse-2019' - Don't read the top reviews, or the middle ones. Just watch it. I thought that black and white was dead when 'The Artist' won an Oscar, too.

'Give Me Liberty-2019' - Cheese state slavic kid does his best to 'Cocoon' the best for those he loves and works for. The most honest film you may have seen in a while.

and...

'Contagion-2011' - Never saw it until 3 weeks ago, but it sure fits now. Damon, Winslet, Fishburne... 'Yeah science!'

Watched Midsommar yesterday. A beautifully made, sometimes absurd, but relentlessly unsettling horror film. Would definitely recommend.

Watched Dark Waters. Great movie about how disgusting the American capitalist system is. The people that control the world’s largest and most profitable companies don’t care about you or me, they only care about more profits.

Rob Bilot is a goddamn hero who should be revered and held up as an example of the best that human beings can offer to the world with regards to caring about your fellow humans and condemning the ‘big business’ model of profits above anything else and the individual idea that if I’m getting mine, #### everyone else.

Watch this movie.

Got around to watching Yesterday - enjoyed it a lot. Cool premise and well executed. A perfect example of what I like to call a "nice little film".

I went into watching Freaks (2018) completely blind. I'm glad that I did, and I won't ruin any of it here. It's rare that I'm surprised by a film the way I was with this one.

Very interesting, almost plays like a Luc Besson film.

I've always liked Emile Hirsch, he is generally good in everything that he does. His facial hair pattern is weirdly identical to Jack Black though.

Happy Death Day 2U:
Entertaining. Not as good as the first one, but perfectly watchable. Less horror/comedy, more comedy/scifi/drama.

Yeah, I really liked this. It had the nice level of campiness to make it fun, but not over the top silliness. I take it the first one had a more serious tone?

Yeah these are kind of underrated. A rather entertaining pair of movies based on a novel premise.

Thought Call of the Wild was okay. Wasn't happy they chose to use a CGI dog instead of a real one. In fact the CGI dog didn't look real to me.

I'm thinking of watching Contagion. Try and get my mind off everything going on these days.

I would thank that, but I think it's better that it's only been thanked by GreatWhiteEbola.

I sometimes question my choice of username chosen in 1997. If only the front-page headlines didn't read Ebola Outbreak in Gambon and great white shark attack in Australia...

Don't worry. In my mind, you'll be 'GreatWhiteEnema' from now on.

Not necessarily serious, but more suspenseful.

Its funny, last night my wife and I were looking for a movie to watch and the Top Recommendations were:

- Outbreak
- Contagion
- World War Z
- 28 Days Later
- I am Legend

Yeah. So my take-away from all of this is that Ebola causes the Zombie Apocalypse. Somehow. I'm on board with that.

On another note however we ended up watching 'Ford vs. Ferrari' and I have to say that I loved it.

The story was great and more or less accurate to the history that I know, the acting was top notch and I dont even really like car racing, but it builds the tension, gets you involved, I thought it was really, really good.

And I hate saying this because I've always felt that if 'you have to see it in theaters' is a cop-out for a lame movie with great effects, but we've got a nice sound setup at home and the rumbling of the engines and the cars racing was really engaging.

So yeah, highly recommend even if you're not a huge car or racing buff. It gets the blood flowing.

Over Christmas holidays I made my 40+ year old brother watch Midsommer and Hereditary back-to-back (I had already watched them).

He couldn't sleep that night haha.
