QUACK! Ducks win, GM Drunk to investigate scoring error.

The Ducks got back on the winning path after firing 34 shots at The Flyers goalie but only giving up 16. "Its great to stop the losing skid, but I personally have to play better" Roberto Luongo said after the game.

GM Drunk and Head Coach Alexander Keith are going over game footage to see if they somehow missed something. The Ducks gave up a short handed goal with no one in the penalty box!

Period 1
1. FLYERS, ZAMUNER 4 (MCCLEMENT, HAMRLIK) (SH), 06:38

PENALTIES: J. MCCLEMENT FLY (HOOKING, Minor) 01:12, T. NUMMINEN FLY (ELBOWING, Major) 03:10, N. SCHULTZ FLY (CROSS-CHECKING, Minor) 09:56, B. WITT DUC (HIGHSTICKING, Minor) 09:56
Anaheim didn't get their 1st penalty until 9:56 of the 1st period but the Flyers scored at 6:38.

"Something is fishy here, I know Flyers GM kermitology is upset about that unfortunate accident in the pond (See picture below), I believe he has paid off the official scorer. We will find out"

Capitals are 3-6-1 in their last ten and apparently an easy two pts. Last four games in four nights we didn't win a single game. Now two games in we are duplicating the feat again. An amazing run of virtually no scoring by the top two lines continues. PP goes scoreless for game after game after game.

One of the league's worst teams plays again tommorrow against the Blues and then the following night against the Sabres. I guess we will be down to 1-8-1 by then as the SIM has decided to give the Caps the shaft!!!!!!!!!!

St. Pete Times

Game Story

The Tampa Bay Lightning hosted the Detroit Red Wings and came away with a victory as they defeated the Red Wings 3-2. Felix Potvin playing for the injured John Grahame played well making 25 saves. Scott Young paced the Lightning offensively as he had a goal and an assist. Newly acquired Curtis Brown scored his 3rd goal in his second game with the Lightning as he potted the winner.

GM Moon was pleased with the victory:

“The boys came out and played well. This is a stretch of games where we really need to get points and try and fight our way back into the play-off hunt. The new guys have come in and played well and Felix gave us a good game when we really needed it.”

John Grahame will return to the line-up for Sundays game but the Lightning have lost Mats Lindgren to injury as he is out day to day with an elbow injury.

The Lightning are now on a two game winning streak and will go for three in a row as they travel to Edmonton to play the Oilers on Sunday.

And just like that the wings top line needs another month off to recover. After finally getting some rest and almost getting back to 100% Lankow, Elias, Marleau, Checkmanek, Braithwaite and Krog are living the high life as they seem to be going out clubing every night. Freddy Brathwaite playing his third game of the year was herd as he left the ice......"Oxygen....someone get me some Oxygen." Detroit who just finished a 7 game in 7 night stint now close out a 3 games in 3 night homestand tomorrow against the Hawks. It is unsure who will start in net as The #1 goalie has been sitting in the press box and is nowhere near ready to play a game.

Positives from todays game, Lankow with 2 goals. Wings held Tampa to just 16 shots. and...well thats about it.

Glad someone finally picked up on that, they don't call me Halifax Drunk for thinking clearly you know!

But if there was a minor penalty at 03:10 (2 minutes) why were the Flyers shorthanded at 6:38?

To explain a little more clearly...a major penalty is 5 minutes 3:10 plus 5 minutes would mean that the goal would need to come between 3:10 and 8:10. 6:38 does fall within this range.

Period 1
1. FLYERS, ZAMUNER 4 (MCCLEMENT, HAMRLIK) (SH), 06:38

PENGUINS 1 at THRASHERS 2

Thrashers win almost foiled by mighty Manny.

Langenburner scorches the Pens for the games first goal.

Zdeno adds the finishing touches with the GWG and leaves the Pens charaed.

Games Notes

Mighty Manny Legace did his part for the Pens and stopped 33 of our 35 shots.

Although not as mighty tonight Lalime played solid and stopped 19 of the 20 Penguin shots.

Keys to the Game

Flames found success on their special teams. 1 for 2 on PP and 4 for 4 on PK.

334 CAPITALS 1 KINGS 2

Two days after shutting out the St. Louis Blues 2-0, Dan Cloutier comes up with another big win for the LA Kings, this time against the Washington Capitals.

The game was tightly contested regardless of the several Capital powerplays. In the second period pressbox fodder Mark Mowers scored his first of the season as the injured Jeff Halpern watched from the sidelines. In the same period, Cloutier allowed his only goal in two games when Marian Gaborik found the twine.

Darcy Tucker's goal in the third period was the difference in the game. It featured Karlis Skrastins's 2nd assist of the game.

Dan Cloutier has crawled back to respectability in the CPHL and the Kings are only one point out of a playoff spot now.

The Monarchs were victorious versus the Portland Pirates in the AHL.

According to the CPHL stats...Garon played.

I opened up the editor and loaded my lines...Auld was saved as the starter and that was what I sent into the league. Not sure what happened.
