Smith with the fist pump for the win. Careful buddy, don’t show any emotion now. ‘What goes around comes around’. Tool.

Here come the Oilers turtles weitz, stang etc.

Popping into every thread after wins, nowhere to be found when they're losing.

Sucks the Oilers won but at least it was in regulation. That Jets defence is not very good, let RNH walk in uncontested on the winning goal.

Their PP alone is probably gonna get them into the playoffs. They're in for a rude awakening once they get there though. The games are called much differently in the post season, with the officials letting a lot of minor stuff go. They won't be gifted anywhere near the amount of PPs as they've been getting in the regular season.

I predict they will get a boat load of PPs.

Are teams adjusting and studying tape of that PP?

Might take a different strategy but every PP has its PK kryptonite.

Actually those two and a few others are pretty good posters.

So Joe, what do you know? Thornton scored!
It is now 5-0 Sharks and Jones looks to be getting a shutout with under four minutes remaining in the third period.

Jeez... what is going on with the pens lately. 6 straight losses, and they've lost to the ducks, sharks, kings, and sabres in this streak.

That’s what I hope... but this whole season has been us predicting the collapse (easy schedule to start, Mcdingle and d-bag not being able to sustain, McDavid injured) and it hasn’t happened. I hope like hell their playoff opponent grinds them into the ground and PPs are scarce. But they are finding ways to win.

Yup, sadly this appears to be their Cinderella season. Every single thing has gone right for them so far.

Yep. (c)Oil deserve playoffs the way they're playing. Jets are useless. Nashville with too many games in hand.

Best hope now is for EDM's first-round opponent to stomp them.

Flames are too little, too late.

Respect to Tippet. He has worked a small miracle. I have hated many an oilers coach, but not him (yet). In this after hours interview of course we hear when he was hired, Lowe toured him through the oilers ‘hall of fame’ room. Drink the kool aid Dave, drink it... does any other NHL team have a hall of fame room? Or just the greatest nhl franchise ever to exist?

Lucky the Oilers won or they could have been on the outside looking in as early as Tuesday

Canes and Islanders winless since their big deadline acquisitions. Pens too but the started well before.

Their playoff opponent will likely be the Canucks at this point, so Go Canucks?

Smith showed a lot of disrespect towards the Jets there with his fist pump. Did I do that right? I hate that self-entitled team.

But I do think the NHL will make sure their big, whiny greatest player of all time in the world and the Keeper of the Code get to strut their stuff in the playoffs. And unlike direwolf, I predict the highest number of pp's ever for the Oilers. Team of Destiny.

Wondering why you guys keep saying the Oilers get a lot of power plays?

I just checked and they are 18th in the league with 191 PPO.

Flames are 20th with 186 PPO.

It's the Nucks that are getting all the calls this year they are first in the league with 223 PPO.

It’s not the amount - its the timing. You can count on it if they are trailing with under 5 to go.
