Cassie Campbell with the total jinx after Backlund scored. As soon as she said it was so important for the Flames to have kept Nashville from getting a point I just new they would pull the goalie and tie it.

Lindholm has been standing doing nothing for a few goals lately. First or second goal against he was standing watching then looking at the Frobert like it was his fault.

Flames blow it, lose 4-3 in OT in unacceptable fashion
That ####ing sucked but the teams playing much better and Backlund looks like a man possessed. Tough loss on the road but it’s not the end of the season.
Like others have said, Ward with a rookie coach decision to not have Backlund out there when Lindholm was having an awful game. Rittich also needs to be better.

Just a baffling decision. Baffling.

I get that, but I would put a lot of money of Backlund and Mangiapane being then next guys over the bench in OT. They usually cycle thru three forward pairs and I matter how bad Lindholm was playing, he’s always going to be involved as one of those 6 guys.
23/13 started but there was a quick whistle and he threw out 28/19. Because 13/23 had such a short opening shift, he threw them back out.

Beating a dead horse I'm sure, but arguably the biggest game of the season for the Flames and the Preds are getting away with a ton of cross checks and cheap shots during and after the play and where was lucic?

Sucks to lose but if we do, getting the loser point is the way to do it.

I feel like this is such vintage Flames, the games where the goalies play well the forwards suck and when the forwards do well the goalies suck.

I can believe how shaken up I am. Just a total collapse on the tying goal. OT is always a 50/50 coin toss but how unaware do you have to be to allow a goal with 0.1 seconds left. Absolutely braindead defence by Gio, Lindholm, and Rittich. Those 3 individuals OWE their teammates a point. I hope they see it the same way.

Meh, 1 bad goal for each goalie. Goal 3 and 4 more on D. And if the team had better 1st line we would win easily this game. Monahan is useless in D zone.

This is a good point. A play that stood out to me was Hamhuis just pinning Rieder to the boards for the whole shift while the Preds had possession of the puck elsewhere. A powerplay or seven probably would have helped.

I can’t watch any more. Lucic should have retired, no show tonight after a terrible game in Boston.

Gio just got back he should not have been out there dying seconds. What kind of a clueless coach......ah forget it. The worst part is I bet Ward doesn't have the slightest clue he did anything wrong.

Such rage here.
Flames played a pretty solid road game and probably deserved to win - but any loss is met with this weird angry internet entitlement on CP.
Were gonna lose games. We got a point and they looked better than most of the games I've seen this year. Move on.
All you armchair coaches and GMs should apply for the gig.

Seriously did Lucic play? 3 rd line want noticeable. Bennett because of his 3rd period penalty. Dube cause he always falls down. 3rd line was brutal. We had 2 lines going tonight. Backlund and Janko line. As furious as i am. Saros made some awesome saves and didn’t like Rittich pulling a hissy fit at end of game

Awful way for the game to turn out. There's no such thing as a moral victory.
Having said all that, if you can't rest your head on points not earned, you can use the way the team is playing to guess the future. They're playing well now and that bodes well for the future. The first line is creating chances, the real first line is creating a ton of chances, and the D seems to be much more figured out.
I leave this game feeling pretty positive about the future with the Flames probably dictating play in Nashville and in Boston, who are very good teams on home ice. This is the team that can play well down the stretch and into the playoffs.
