Default Telus gets into porn biz

I guess there is a big up roar over Telus offering porn over the cell phone.

Who cares....if you have web browsing capabilities on your cell phone you can get porn any how.

What do you guys think?

It’s a business I read an article on the subject and last year there was 400 million dollars spent on cell porn, any company would be stupid not to get a piece of that, its been available for years all over Europe

Shaw sells porn. Bell sells porn. Starchioce sells porn. Why not Telus?

As a Telus shareholder, I think this is a welcome development.

The real question is do you want to be sitting on a bus next to a guy surfing porn on his cell phone??

you can already get porn on a cell phone is the point. Now Telus is just profiting from it.

Now this is a thread that can get 10,000 views! I know it's been available in Europe and Asia for years now, and from what I've heard, people are casually watching it in subways and whatnot. I'd just feel awkward sitting beside somebody on the bus watching that stuff (like Photon said). Keep that stuff in the privacy of your home.

It's no different then driving behind someone with the porn going on their DVD players. Or when someone leaves their curtains open late at night when the the little woman is out.

!?!??

I can honestly say I've never had that happen. And that seems hundreds of times more dangerous than driving while talking on the cell phone; try and explain THAT to your insurance company.

I've never seen it, but I've definitely heard of it...case in point - NBA balla Eddie Griffen.

Yes, but this makes it for more accessible for a lot of people which increases the likelihood of sitting down next to a porn phone on the bus.

disclaimer:I'm not against Telus's decision, just think it will increase public viewings of what should be private content.

Well, you do have to verify (I saw the online form at mytelusmobility) that you're an adult, with a CC number I think, before you can access that stuff.
Obviously not foolproof, but about as much hassle and time consuming as going through the motions of transferring pictures from ones computer onto the phone.

That's when you find some angle to sue them.
