Cinderella seasons come in different forms for mid rebuild teams. Believe me sir, it's not that easy for young clubs to waltz in and insta-contend.
You're not going to blow out your way to a finals.
Best advice is stay humble. These seasons with exciting young players can end extra heart breaky when experience starts to reveal its advantage.

honestly, i just want us to make the playoffs again and have the city jacked up.
I want to see a next gear in Petey, Hughes, Boeser etc that we never seen before.
any success in the playoffs is just bonus to me.

But that adversity is kinda neutralized by having so many 1st overalls that the league changes the rules JUST for you, so you don't get anymore 1OAs. Then those rules proceed to land you a franchise player.

The best part about the Canucks/Oilers amazing miracle seasons is that they aren't even that good. I mean everything has gone right for the Oilers and they have ONE more point than the Flames who have had an awful season overall.

When the Leafs can pick up John Tavares for free to compliment Matthews, Marner and Nylander and go on to lose to a zamboni driver, you can't get ahead of yourself when it comes to acquisitions.

Plenty of time for the refs to gift the Oilers power play times. Betcha they'll get one within the first 2 minutes of period 2.
