The problem isn't the drop pass itself, it was the fact that the Flames used it on every single PP entry without trying anything else... So it was very easy to predict.

They're better lately with different entry types, but the drop pass is still used about 60% of the time, with the carry in as their favorite second option.

This isn't a team built for dump and chase, but it's different on the PP is our speedy forwards can retrieve the puck and outnumber the defenders who won't be looking for a quick transition game while they're on PK.
