It's quite the steal for Detroit. Yzerman knows what he's doing.
Really? I thought they’d get a first for him. Didn’t think we’d be in on him because of that.

Upgraded our top 6
Upgraded our bottom 6
Gained a Depth dman who can help the PP.
All while RIGHT up against the cap.

Plus
We still have our 1st, Bouchard, and Broberg. Probably keeping our 3rd too.

I have only one complaint, and that’s Gagner being gone. He loved being an Oiler.

However I love the upgrades.

2 seconds from Edmonton likely are in the same range as a first from a contender who could actually use AA in some positive fashion.

Like I said, it was not like the Oilers were ever going to draft actual NHL players with those second-round picks. So, no harm, no foul.

Why is he on the PK???

Gagner was going to have to answer for his antics sooner or later. He was a marked man. He probably asked for a trade.

did he really? lol

going from Edmonton to Detroit isn't exactly winning.

at least with the Oil, he was in a playoff race.

Well, Yzerman said the price they were asking from the start was 2 2nds

Yes, it's not that complicated.

This is hilarious because other teams probably weren’t even interested in AA for a single 2nd rounder, let alone two picks. But Ken Holland has to continue the proud Oilers tradition of getting ripped off. .

I hope he pots 8 points in one night, and signs himself a big fat contract that’s starts with an 8.

So very oilers.

AA is a one dimensional player who tries to skate through the whole team while trying to score a goal. It will be a miracle if Tippet can get AA to focus on defence and pass the puck. Think about it, is McDavid going to be happy with a puck hog on his line.

I wait and see how they look on the ice. However there’s a difference when you’re by yourself and try and do it all vs playing with the best player in the game

i think almost anyone would look good, at least on offense, playing with Mcdavid or Draistl.

surprised at the acquisition price though. 2 2nds is pretty steep... no way AA was worth a first based on his play this year...or his entire career with the exception of last year.

Yeah who’s the better player?

The guy who demands his GM bring in wingers.

Or

The guy who turns nobodies into NHL wingers.

You are right, look what he did for Kassian and getting all his points. I'm sure we will see him bounce back playing with McAvid. I think it was a decent pick up for the Oilers and I really hate typing this out. I do think they overpaid though, seems like a steep payment for that guy.
