Why did #bolts trade first round picks for Blake Coleman and Barclays Goodrow? It’s all about $$$. Goodrow ($925k) and Coleman ($1.8m) are both signed for next year on cheap deals ahead of another cap crunch summer.

How in any reasonable universe is Barclay Goodrow worth a 1st round pick??

Still that's a pretty reckless trade if it's a 1st round pick. I hate that the Sharks and Kings have done very well at the deadline this season.

He's on a cheap deal because he's a marginal player. Before this season his career high was 7 goals and 17 points.

That's crazy. But I don't know if it's fair to paint this as an indictment on the market as a whole when Ennis only got a 2021 5th.

Goodrow... man he didn't even crack my Top 50 list. Shows you how much I know.

They paid more for Goodrow than the canes did for trochek. This one is the modern day Paul Gaustad for a 1st trade imo. Baffling.
