Carolina was able to get around its cap issues using LTIR.... So the 'Canes acquire both Skjei from Rangers and Vatanen from NJD to shore up their injured blue-liner. What a day for the Hurricanes when you also consider getting Vincent Trocheck

Before we traded Hamilton I remember some Rangers fans saying they didn't need dougie because they had skjei and he's more valuable.

On the first round pick in the Brady Skjei trade: Carolina will have the option of deciding which of their own or Toronto’s they give NYR before the draft. So will keep the higher of the two.
