Good question. I was going off capfriendly which had his contract still counting against the cap. So I assume he is still getting paid despite parting ways? Not to sure how that worked out.

Yeah, because it was a 35+ multi-year contract, the full cap hit still counts against the Kings, but he isn't actually being paid on the terminated contract.
The Devils are in a similar situation where they still carry a cap hit against his contract for cap recapture, but he isn't being paid by them (he was already paid the money and its cap hit is just being recaptured).
