I would be uncomfortable running Trafford and Wheeldon as our top two CB. I agree we need depth at midfield as well but this rumour also addresses a need.

Depends on whether Zator is deployed as an RB or a RCB. I agree that Trafford/Wheeldon as a centre duo is a bit thin.

Home kits will be revealed league wide on February 27. I believe the club was planning the launch party to be at Kildare's but it hasn't been publicly announced.

Looks like like they are using a darker red, It will offset the white better I think.

I'm bracing myself for the rumoured all-black away kits for the entire league. If true, that could be a mistake.

I was hoping that this rumour had died off a little. I'll give them a pass for a year of they do something like this, but I do think it would be a mistake. Seems gimmicky and limits the ability for teams to create a brand/identity for themselves. Just imagine every single game at Spruce Meadows being red vs. black. Literally every single game. Boring.
An argument was made about cost savings of going more generic for away kits, but I don't think that it would offset the missed opportunity of having some nice, unique away colours. Black might sell for the first year, but it'll drop off fast after that.
While I am being a fashionisto, I would like to see Halifax and Pacific differentiate themselves more, colour wise. Their palette is much too similar, too pastel-ey and they even have/had the same VW sponsor. They just blend together in my mind.
But bring on a "proper" Calgary red for Cavalry. The orangy red never seemed quite right to me.
That's all I've got until the schedule is released. This is what I've come to. Soccer fashion.

I really hope that isn't the case but I fear you're right. They are clearly changing the away kit and with all of the teams scheduling a release for their home kits I could very well see a quiet joint announcement of matching away kits. It makes no sense to me. Branding is so important to teams why force them all to be alike?

The rumours are true. All away kits will be black this year. I have no idea why. I'm expecting the sash to be gone on the home kit as well.
I thought the majority of kits last year were well done, so I'm willing to wait and see before judging any further.

To play devils advocate... if they were all the same template (black plus a team colour), those would be easy to assemble and distribute, and not require a delay until April (which might hurt sales), so I suspect customized black jerseys, which is better than a standard template.
I suspect either they are abandoning all blacks and redesigning some teams, which will delay things, or having to do Ottawa’s homes in a rush delayed production.
I also wouldn’t mind if the teams kept their prior away kits as a third alternate to prevent too much colour v. black matches

FC Edmonton have gone to LinkedIn to try and recruit their President / GM. Among the responsibilities of this job that apparently pays 12-15K according to the posting...
1. Bring FC Edmonton to financial break even status
2. Make the CPL playoffs every second year
3. Sell out over 50% of games
4. Oversee the entire club

The no sash would be a real tragedy.

That's $12-15K per month, just for clarification...

Still not enough considering you’d have to live in Edmonton
