I love seeing Bennett play centre with actual NHL wingers. It’s where he belongs.

Believe that makes it 3 goals and 2 assists in this being his 8th game since the all star break.

Not just you, and definitely accurate statement if it was Sam

crazy first... this is the Bennett Calgary needs... he's capable of being a 20 goal guy, but inconsistency has plagued him...

i hope that he is able to get some confidence from this game moving forward.

It'd be great if Dube and Benny developed great chemistry, Backs keeps scoring, Janko keeps scoring, and the reformed top line can start to dominate again.

It’d be interesting to see how Sam responds if the club gives him an extended look at centre. Don’t trade him before seeing how he does in that role.

That pass by Dube on the second Bennett goal was honestly disgusting.

I can't get over that Dube pass on Bennett's 2nd.

Out of the air backhand, with a Blackhawk on top of him, for a clean breakaway. It's not really getting any attention, even getting cut out of replays on the highlights being uploaded.

I'd put it up there with Langkow's diving pass to Bertuzzi in Minnesota.

That play by Dube was pure magic.

Bennett gave it some love on the jumbotron interview after the period.

Burke preaching about how every person who watches the player safety videos should know exactly what is a suspension and for how long...

If you say so, I guess everyone else in the world must just be too dumb then

Their biggest problem tonight, like the rest of the year, is issues with mindset and confidence. Mentally they need to be more mature, which is easier said than done.

Confidence feeds mindset and mindset feeds confidence.

Confidence also bleeds mindset then mindset bleeds confidence. This was the team under Gulutzan.

When I watch them live or on TV, I can see where they are at by the execution of their passing and in turn the execution of their scoring chances.

You see it with Gaudreau when he's making safe plays because he's worried about turnovers or takeaways. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise as he's learning to play safer hockey when it is required. But it would be nice to see his swagger back more consistently rather than just in flashes.

They just obliterated the Canucks on the road last week.

Credit to Johnny. He's shown a ton of hustle for a while now on the back check.

It would be, but it won't. Expect him back on the 4th line as a wing. Is he going to displace Ryan, Backlund or Monahan? Don't see it happening. Not saying it shouldn't happen, but Sam Bennett has always been asked to take a back seat, regardless of how lackluster others have played. He's been a good soldier, but isn't likely to be extended any sort of promotion with the current cast of characters.

Loubo on the radio about Dube's assist:

"It was a perfectly-executed sacrifice bunt! And there wasn't even anyone banging on a garbage can to help out!"
