Apparently Kassian waived his rights to the in person hearing, so he'll have to make sure his skype software is all up to date.

It was an inside job! Cernak kicked himself with his own skate! Metal girders dont melt that way! The Government did it!

I disagree with everyone calling for a suspension.
I think DOPS should express their disgust by this event by not suspending him. Plus, mandate that he has to play a minimum of 20 minutes per night.
That would show the hockey world how strongly they feel about this act.
There may be something in the Geneva convention or something that prohibits such cruel and unusual punishment though.

Well done Gio. I was just going to post in regards to him waiving due to the unavailability of the frozen caveman lawyer to represent him. Glad I'm not the only person that loved those skits.

Kassian should get a big suspension for that (six to eight games). That nonsense has no place in the game.

Predatory chest bump from Cernak on a prone Kassian.
I'm surprised poor Zack is still alive.

This is where the oilers' depth comes through for us as Flames fans. It's hysterical that Zack fn Kassian is heralded as a top 6 player who can contribute to their playoff hopes, whose high end scoring prowess will be somehow be sorely missed.
Start planning the draft party!

As many others have posted about Kassian, he has a record of jumping people from behind or when they are not ready, dangerous hits to the head, multiple suspensions, and somehow he was the darling for attacking Tkachuk.
We aren't going to see any of the enablers from around the NHL demonstrating their virtue signals this time, they will ignore it, as they won't have been fed a villain this time.
We will though likely see the NHL bungle this one badly, enabling Kassian to do more wrong.

I dunno, kicking someone is probably one of the single most dangerous things you can do on the ice. It's something you might see from a spastic 9 year old learning how to control his emotions, not an NHLer.
10+ to me is still not enough. Guy was just suspended because he can't control himself, and what does he do? Ratchets up his stupidity.
There's no place in the league for guys like this with obvious mental problems.
