You also have to take into account that the Oilers are playing about as well as they can, whereas the Flames have been playing near what they are capable of. Would be interesting see a rating over a bigger sample set.

Kylington is just listed as D and is 69.12 #115 He has the 6th lowest rating of all NHL d-men basically suggesting that he would not be on any roster of strong NHL d-men and would be replaceable with waiver wire claims.
Not to worry about him getting picked in the expansion draft.
Nurse is rated 73.99 LD #32 He is rated #2 on the Oiler behind Klefbooms 74.34 and woukld be #2 on the a healthy Flames roster.... #1 with Gio out.
OK Fancy stats guys try to explain this Link to corisica player rankings
It is not a bad thing that other teams have good players.
PS Monahan is ranked a the #54 centre Lindholm #30 so a trade for a lower tier #2 centre for a top of tier #2 LD is a thing a lot of people with the centre would make... not even taking into account the grit factor.

Did you watch Andersson's performance the last two games? You know, when he needed to step up with injuries. Just wondering as I would not trade him for Nurse even if they were the same age with same cap hit.

Lol - either ricardodw is a world class troll, or just not that adept at understanding and watching the game of hockey.
I'll say it again - there isn't a single GM in the entire league, except for Edmonton, that would trade Monahan for Nurse. Not one. To suggest it is laughable.
At the same time, I doubt you'd find many that would say Nurse is a better player than any of Gio, Brodie, Hanifin or Andersson. I'd argue I wouldn't trade Hamonic for him either, and it would be tough to trade Kylington for him either as I believe Oliver will be a better player in the end.
Nurse might be the second best D man on the Coilers, but when the competition is what it is up there, that's an exceedingly low bar to clear. In all honesty, Klefbom as your number one is probably the worst number 1 in the league, and Nurse can't even surpass him.
Nurse is, on his absolute best day, an average number 4. No amount of ridiculous posts from you will make that any less true. On the Flames, he'd be a third pair guy, with or without Gio in the lineup, and in all likelihood a CP whipping boy with his constant bonehead plays.

Corsica has been defunct for over a year and a half.
So the Flames young defenseman have had almost two full seasons of development since that site was updated.
That's a swing and a miss.

oops It is you who are mistaken.
They have Quinn Hughes rated as the #8 LD with 76.1 and 56 NHL games which is up to date as humanly possible. Pretty good prediction from 2 years ago.
You must be really disappointed in the fancy stats of the Flames young defensemen such that you think think that they are 2 years behind in their development.
Check the link I provided... unlike a lot of "experts" on this site I try to attribute my sources.
I am a bit disappointing in your research comparing Nurse to Andersson.... whatever your analytic sources it would show Nurse statistically a superior player ... unless you are cherry picking stats.

How so? The base stats are the same and would show Nurse as an analytical star relative to all the Flames not named Gio.

Bingo's was Corsica.hockey by Manny Elk, a well known stats guy, which went under two years ago. This is Corsicahockey, a site with background I'm unaware of. This is their incomprehensible rating system:
https://www.corsicahockey.com/nhl-pl...ings-explained
That site has some odd results. Sam Reinhart better than Scheifele? OK. They list Draisaitl as a C (the best C in the league as a matter of fact). Did you know that Matt Bartkowski with zero games is better than over 20 guys including Kylington, Seabrook, Stone, Larsson? That Hamonic is better than Jaybo? Look out Ryan Johansen. Dube is only one ranking behind.

Because it gives you numbers to draw a conclusion from. You link a Corsica Hockey BETA website that shares no methodology and merely claims to use advanced statistics and machine learning to rank players. There is no transparency at all.
Here are some actual numbers.
Current Season 5v5.
Nurse 49.72 CF%, 49.09 FF%, 49.61 XG%
Andersson 51.28 CF%, 50.98 FF%, 53.59 XG%
Not sure where this analytical star Nurse is, but hey, you found a list someone on the internet made which supported your bad take.

It's because usually he gets hit with a brief rebuttal that was obvious to everyone except for him and is usually scathingly hilarious to everyone except for him.

I’ve never seen Nurse do anything that made me think “I’d like that guy on my team.”
Zero times.

Well I do owe you an apology Ricardo, as I thought he was linking to a defunct site.
However now that it's not the Corsica site that I trusted with a lot of the data I mined it gives [pause to their methodologies.
But I will give it a better look.
