Neither is Johnny these days.

Is Sean 'butter-soft' Monahan either? Certainly not.

Backlund doesn't compete hard enough on the PP. I'd like to see 29-93-88 just battle for the puck and play with pace along the boards with 4 and 88 acting as the trigger men and Doc as the calming presence.
No offense, but putting Bennett on the PP is about as useful as only having a fork to eat ice cream. Guy would probably still struggle to put the puck in on a shooter tutor.

This team looks terrible then great then terrible again. I just wish they would figure out their identity. I mean if they're going to suck, that's fine be bad. If they're going to actually give a crap, do that every game.

I would have such an easier time supporting this team if they were one or the other but this whole flip flop bs isn't helping anyone.

Kinda sad that’s one of the only things I’m looking forward to watching tonight. Be kinda cool if Johnny and Money showed up and if the team played like they cared. That would be neat.

I did. Call out Johnny all you want, he deserves it. But you better call out Monahan too. He's been just as terrible, if not moreso.

Brodie takes Gio's place on PP1.

What has yoga, beach and seal has anything to do with the Flames or hockey in that matter? Nothing. Absolutely nothing! But nothing has works in the last little while, so might as well post something cute, like seal doing yoga.

His board work has been quite good as of late as he's been playing fast and aggressive, and Mikael Backlund is offensive zone poison. So for the role of battling on the boards and crashing the front of the net, I take Bennett all day. He's also had a couple of nice primary assists since the allstar break, which is more than Backlund has done lately.

They should trade Janko for a bag of pucks and bring up Czarnik. He has been on fire and he can QB a PP.

It would be hard to fathom how a career minor leaguer could help bring Johnny out of whatever his problem is.

Buddy isn't an NHL player.

I've been wanting to see Hanifin and Andersson together for a while but Hanifin has been brutal lately and not under these circumstances.

Needless to say I am nervous about tonight.

Czarnik had points in three straight games before he got injured. But apparently he's not good enough to play in the NHL, even though he's scoring a ton in Stockton. One of my biggest head scratchers this year.

Yeah, I mean if every other forward on the roster were solid defensively and never turned the puck over, I'd understand not playing Czarnik, but when he's not worse than everyone else, don't understand why his offensive skills aren't being utilized in Calgary.

There's a real disconnect between the roster the GM put together and the game that the coaches (Peters and Ward) are trying to play. You don't have a roster here that can play a tight defensive shut down game. You have a roster of small, skilled, players, so utilize them in a way that takes advantage of their skills, which is high paced offensive hockey, you know, the thing that made you successful in the first half of the season last year.

I'm not advocating keeping the roster the way it is, but if you are going to keep it, then utilize the players in a way that makes sense. Don't force a small and speedy group into playing a tight checking defensive game, because that's not what they are good at and you usually just end up with crap.

As for the D, hopefully the new pairings will re-energize the group (especially Hanifin and Hamonic). I also think Kylington/Stone could potentially be decent third pairing.

Also good to see Talbot back in. For some reason, Rittich's numbers at home have been awful in recent weeks.
Last game, hanafin had some jump for a while
