With the OOT (so far), a loss here might be the straw that breaks this season.

I have no issues with the words of Francis during this intermission. Sarich is correct as well.

This is exactly why we need a coach with experience and ideas.

Ward is implementing dead puck era tactics right now. Bottom of the bin, when you have no other ideas type strategies.

These aren't the type of players you go to ring it around the boards zone entries with.

Mix up the lines all you want, it won't change the effectiveness.

Meanwhile the Sharks have carried the puck into the zone, and skated to dangerous areas. It's paid off and they're up 2-1. It's not rocket surgery.

I agree with Sarich regarding the constant line juggling. Must be tough to get any chemistry with your teammates when you're out there with different guys every shift.

Yup.

Francis nailed it when he said the team has no identity....and that lands squarely on Treliving.

Why does it land on him squarely?
What about the players?
Look at Timbits post earlier
Our best players should be responsible for the identity of this team

Agree with the lines, but that’s Ward.
It’s also BT. He needed another scorer before Backlund has fallen off the cliff.
Now he needs probably two...he has 4 top 6 forwards, and any combination of those 4 players over the two lines has proven not to produce decent results. Stick them all one one line, like last playoffs, you get that line shut down with 1 guy on the second line. 2 on each line doesn’t work, SM and JG avoided bothering to pass Backlund by the end of his tenure up there, and EL and MT didn’t exactly light it up either, again because they didn’t have a reliable third guy, or would Ward keep a third guy there consistently.

I agree with Sarich especially about the defensive pairing nuances. I disagree with Francis because he's a greasy little slime ball and does things like quotes the camera man, but then says 'don't quote anyone on that.' Just typical BS drivel coming from his pip-squeak chirper.

Johnny misses a pass and slips off to the bench after a 31 second shift.

How come Bennett is good when everyone is bad and bad when everyone is good?

I think Bennett is simply the unluckiest player in the NHL.

Are they a fast team? A hard to play against physical team?

A transition team? A dump and chase/hard forecheck team?

Its a mish mash collection of guys...and he is the one that put them together.

Now you want the players to decide what they should play like?

Its the old analogy from Bill Parcells in a way....you better have the right ingredients to make the dinner you want. Treliving is the one providing those.

Im not giving a full pass to the players at all..cause there is a game plan from the coaching staff and this team has trouble executing it for very long and especially when there is any adversity.
