Only thing more embarrassing is the over reaction to one loss. Had you told me we’d go 3-1 to the Oilers so far before game 1 and gain 3 points on them in the act I’d have taken it in a heart beat. The calls to blow up a team currently in a playoff position are embarrassing. This team requires some moves no doubt, but the fan base clearly isn’t mentally tough enough to deal with the highs and lows and the tiny margins of difference between teams in today’s NHL.
Tonight was a write off early on. I think some vets like Lucic are more intense in games where it makes a difference. The other thing was that the blowups tended to happen without him on the ice, and he’d risk suspension by jumping off or starting something later. But I’d have liked a couple nasty hits.

Really, the Flames just didn’t have it tonight. I think they need a change and are waiting for the big trade they think is coming.

Special shoutout to Lindholm who I thought had a pretty awful game for the most part TBH

Which speaks to the results of tonight, the players we need didn't show up. Lindholm looking off is strange, and the Flames function on his beautiful flawlessness. Was it 2 or 3 great changes he missed?

It goes without saying that Lucic is beyond disappointing here. 8-3, goalie fights, getting beat everywhere and the ####ing BOA... and he's got nothing. Will be interesting to see how many fans still "Luuuuuuuch" this 4 goal power forward now that we can safely assume he will never fight for this team.

I've said it, there's a leadership vacuum on the players side for this team. Not coming out ready to play, falling asleep constantly in the second period. Lack of pushback.

This team doesn't win on lose on any kind of effort, they rarely effort a win.

Geez I forgot about that. It’s becoming way too easy to predict a Flames No show. Night in Vegas? Super Bowl party? Long break?

If are sports betting, just figure out if there’s a party upcoming and bet heavy against the Flames.

- By far the worst defensive display by any NHL team this season

- Lucic should be flipping embarrassed right now, despite the terrible effort you had guys (including the god damn goalie) mix it up, he needs to be waived or sent to Stockton after the last 2 games, SHAMEFUL display

- Hanifin was absolutely dreadful (he should have sat after that 4th goal against)

- Hopefully Rittich learned a valuable lesson tonight

- Hamonic has tunnel vision

- The only Flame I was impressed with tonight was Brodie

The guys who need to execute in these games just didn’t. You have guys like Mangiapane or Anderson you expect are going to eventually struggle, but continue to play hard and perform well.
Guys like Hanafin or Klyington are going to have rough games, you expect it. It’s the coinciding disappearing of the likes of JG, SM, MB that exacerbate it. Most of the team executed poorly, and when half your forward core looks invisible it’s going to be an ugly night.
Rittich had a tough night.

Perfect storm for embarrassment. Blowout against your rivals, it’s bull#### our leading scorer is throwing them when Lucic is doing nothing. In a game like this, when we leave their superstars relatively unmatched and untouched, we need our ‘top’ guys to bring their game as well.

Really quite happy I didn’t attend live. Thanks to the flames for reminding me how much I don’t miss paying hand over fist to watch a miserable performance.

Curios how long of a leash you would give them?

Some of us called this after the Avs series and were blasted by the majority of CP for even calling out Monohan, Gaudreau and saying this roster is mediocre at best.

Now a lot of those posters have come around to seeing it's true.

What would it take for you to belueve we aren't good enough to be a real top team?
Is there any results that would sway you?

The Flames haven't won a game in regulation since January 9th (Minnesota, 8 games ago) and haven't won a game by more than 1 goal since December 27th (Edmonton, 14 games ago)

Hire. A. Legit. NHL. Head. Coach.

Yup, that's why he's there and I'm here. But don't forget his all-star game comments. "I'm gonna get off the ice if he's on".
I'm just venting, like many other here.

The Flames had 2 short of 50 shots against this game, pretty much got out shot 2-1, a day after the Oilers beat the team the Flames lost to a few days ago. The Flames have by far the worst goal differential out of the teams they're competing with and their top players cant be counted on to make any kind of contribution on any given night.

There are culprits that aren't mentally tough enough but it's not the fans.

This game is why so many of us have such drastic emotional swings.

What an embarrassing game.

This is why I understand the rotten core comments. This crap happens to this team too often. Maybe not to this degree, but the lack of emotional investment from all but like three players is unforgivable.

I get it.

Can you imagine the oilers stickflipped at the end of this one?

Listening to Peplinski talking about leadership and coaching makes me wonder if Calgary might need to fix both. I feel like Peplinski thinks he knows what the problem is. Give him a call somebody.
