During the Flames/Avs series, my buddy, a neutral hockey fan, and I were there. As a joke, I brought him an Avs jersey to wear, thinking he would be bugged by dozens of Flames fan on his choice of team. He didn’t care so he wore it, but funny enough, there was a lone hardcore Avs fan watching the game too.
In the dying seconds when it was clear the Flames lost that game and after getting #### on by everyone watching at mill street, that hardcore Avs lept to his feet, bear hugged my “Avs fan” friend, flipped off everyone at the bar and loudly yelled “F*UCK ALL OF YOU! YOU CAN ALL SUCK MY D*CK!”. Things got fairly tense as a couple of guys further away yelled back “shut up and sit down!”. My friend didn’t want to get dragged down by association with this drunk so we quickly paid our tab and quietly left the place thinking a fight was imminent.
The TVs were plenty, draft Root beer was fantastic and fries came in great portions. Would watch there again!
Hopefully the team has their legs tonight, without that, the forechek won’t be effective. If they can get on the Oilers early and create turnovers, I think the Flames should be able to take it.
Hopefully Ward isn’t afraid to dial back Hanifin’s minutes if he’s playing poorly. Dude absolutely killed the Flames the last game. The Oilers scored a goal, received a two many men penalty and had plenty of grade A scoring chances just from several of his mistakes alone.

I suspect Hanifin has had a good talking-to and a bit of video work since last game, and more than that, I suspect he knows outright that he had his head up his ass a few times. The worry for me is he tries to make up for it by being incredi-boy, where what he needs to do is dial it all back, play a safe positional game, and play defense against a quick transitional team.
All the pressure is on the Oilers tonight, so they'll be fired up. If the Flames can play a solid 1st period and weather the early storm, I'm confident we'll take this one.
So far the Oilers have had no answer for the Flames' depth and forecheck. I expect it'll be more of the same tonight, provided the boys show up.
Rick Ball going the Stl-Wpg game. We must be getting Randork.
And he will be insufferable. Worse than Quinn for a game like this, if that’s possible, because he has the national stage.
Many still just watch HNIC and HNIC only, and knowing this, he will have to go through the whole story of the Kassian thing, then make sure he follows the Sportsnet-mandated fellation of McDavid (though he has never needed much coaxing in that regard) and, continue to stir up the drama regarding the hit on the knee shin of McDavid.

Yup. I fully expect a long, extended segment on the Gio hit, followed by intense discussion by the panel on whether he should "answer the bell" for his dirty & dangerous play.
