Geez, even if Gio was beat and instinctively made a move to try and adjust or at least slow McDavid that's a play that happens almost every game and you don't see people crying about it.

If McDavid was going that fast, and if was a knee on knee, he'd be hurt, and he wasn't.

If it's a mistake to make guys think twice about cruising through the slot with your head down when Gio is on the ice, I hope Mark never learns.

I suspect the only reason everyone is making Aho the hill to die on is that its the only defensible play. It's clearly the play that is the most incidental.

You think the other plays were acceptable as well?

Is he supposed to actively move out of the way? That's the only way he can avoid contact there because he's just planted and Aho is coasting and staring at the ice.

Gio has had a couple of cheap hits in his career but that's not one.

The play on McDavid certainly was. You can't knee someone with the back of your knee, and if a collision did occur, it would be knee (McDavid) on side of knee (Gio), ending in Gio being the one hurt. It's a good thing it was a hipcheck.

The injury to Aho was a concussion as well as lower body. Missed 4 games.

I still don't see anything wrong with the McDavid thing. Was a 2 min penalty. That subtle interference play happens a lot.

Were you not the poster who brought up the “Reckless” Gio body check on AHO, as well as McDavid ?

You are the one “ dying on the hill”.

You are 100% wrong on this one Oil Stain. Good solid hockey hit, Giordano was barely moving...the reckless player here was Aho.

The check from behind on Tkachuk into the boards was far worse. Also not called, because that would have salted a reg win for Calgary at that point.

Seems the new narrative around the league is to be outraged when the Flames land or try to land hits.

Hey don't forget the 10 free punches to the head of Tkachuk by Kassian.

But hey, concussions are not a problem in hockey.

Right. And in so doing it completely invalidates your exaggerated claim...

ALso, one must keep in mind that hockey moves really fast sometimes.

Take yesterday for example. Giordano is in a position, sees McDavid is going to hit him, tries to pull his leg away (certainly not toward McDavid), but it all happens so fast, and he can’t predict exactly what McDavid is going to do. McDavid trips over Gio’s foot. it happens, its a 2 minute minor At most - and that’s hockey.

We can see from the slo mo that its certainly not Knee on Knee, but when evaluating a hit like that, you have to watch it in real time. In real time, thinking that is could in any way be intentional is absurd. If it was MUCH slower, you could argue that Gio left his foot out on purpose, but at game speed, there is no such arguement.

No. We just want to have a debate.

From your standpoint, come up with better substance which will lead to a better argument.
