So yeah, you're right. The data show, ALL THE TIME.

take a walk.

Sorry, that post wasn't totally clear, I was referring to a player hanging his knee at the rate that Howe led with his elbows. Not Giordano in this case.

Although, Giordano is currently being viewed as scum by at least two fan bases, three if we include the Canes.

Yeah, it was a really dangerous play, but what is gained by discussion about it on a television broadcast? The NHL does not care; the teams don't care; Gagner missed the hit like he always does; talk about it would have been a completely futile exercise, but doesn't prevent us from discussing it here.

Analysis of what? The puck was very obviously touching the goal line. The officials looked at it and made the right call. Do you actually expect that a Flames broadcast would have belaboured the point? Why would they do that?

Again, these things happen on a local broadcast and have absolutely no bearing on what is happening in the game. Why should people care?
LOL. so why have a panel between periods? Or a message board? Just log off.

The puck was as close as it gets. They always discuss these close calls.

Why did they talk about Gios hit?

Emotionally fragile? GTFO.

And the refs almost screwed that up. He played to puck in the trap which is automatic. They completely missed that and had to "discuss" if he shot it straight out.

I imagine George Parros went downstairs after the game and congratulated Giordano for showing his veteran grit on that play.

As a player who is only in the NHL because the Oilers are contractually obligated to be that could have been the last sip of his cup of coffee.

The fact that this even needs saying is hilarious. Supplemental discipline for what, attempted tripping?

He skated occasionally on the ice while the game was happening.

the best thing about Gio's supposed knee play was watching Mc97's epic meltdown on the bench.

He got an assist and somehow still managed to end up a -1 adding to his impressive -21 on the season.

You'd think hes trying to set a record or something.

Raisaitl's fake tough guy act is starting to piss me off - always beaking and chirping out there - he seems to forget how he refused to fight Chucky after he slew footed him last year. ####ing goldn boys up North don't have to live by "the code" i guess

Giordano must be a magician if he can knee someone with his ankle. His knee was pointed the other direction for crying out loud

I'm not arguing if it was a goal.

In the broadcast, they commented on the refs only looking at the replay briefly. That brief look, we were told, was an indication of how good of a look they got. That, to me, sounds pretty stupid.

Even better was everyone coming back to the ice in the 3rd with not much to say about it.

I had a chuckle thinking they were pretty red-faced when they got a better look at it in the dressing room. They also seemed to quiet down on the bench as soon as we saw the coaches checking into it on the iPads...

Why would the NHL DOPS handle the Gio issue at all? This is clearly a matter for the police.
