Definitely, the most entertaining game of the season so far. Why can't they all be THIS entertaining?..

Feels great to see another win in Edmonton. 6-0 since my first game back in 2009.

The Oiler fans wanted that game so bad. The bitterness of the loss was great to see in person

he thinks guys aren't gonna play him like that in the playoffs? Sportsnet calling it a knee to create a story for the next game. Don't buy into it like the morons up north.

Should we just let McDavid skate by because he is fast?

I hope Gio has a reputation for playing hard and never admitting defeat...maybe guys will think twice

You're not allowed to obstruct McDavid in any way when he skates fast into the zone, don't you know.

That's what I learned from Sportsnet tonight.

Also butts are knees.

yeah, that's how i saw it too... i think you can make a case on the Koivu hit, but if it were anyone but McJesus tonight, it would have been considered incidental contact imo

Reality of the lottery balls falling the way they did. It was an absolutely nothing play. Gio even buckled his knee inwards to prevent a bigger collision. But Mcdavid whines and the hockey world cries.

You know what I like best about Oiler media and fans?

Absolutely nothing.

Kassian got his name in lights around the league and a rushed contract negotiation and settlement out of this, of course he's happy.

This is why I don't want to play the Oilers in the playoffs...league will cheat

They are not a good team but the league will cheat

Oilers with zero hooks, holds, slashes, cross checks this game apparently

Meh, Flames have had much more important goals, much further across the line that weren't counted. Should be used to it by now. Though to be fair they've also had goals count against them that weren't anywhere near that close to being in(against Gillies a couple years ago).

The league is doing an absolutely horrid job of cheating if your proclamation is accurate.

The Oilers have made the playoffs ONCE in the last 14 seasons.

Random thoughts before I got to bed

  • Anyone who didn't enjoy that game is nuts. It was a great game, I'll give Edmonton credit, they played hard, though they still lost hahahah.
  • I didn't like the last 10 minutes of the first period and a couple of stretches in the second, but other then that the Flames played a good road game, especially after playing an actual for real hockey team the night before.
  • Is there any bigger whiny fanbase then the Oilers, they're in full excuseitis tonight. It isn't fair that we had 10 days off, while the Flames played last night. The refs screwed us again,
  • Gio stuck his butt out, this wasn't a kneeing, Sportsnet and the media needs to stop doing this shyte, its getting to be stupid and makes an entire network look like hacks.
  • Good for Tkachuk fighting Kassian, Better that he really didn't give Kassian much. Welcome to mister 3.2x4 a year Oiler fans, in the biggest game of the year he turned invisible after the fight and did nothing.
  • Hey McDavid, Gio would be more then willing to fight you, if you want him to live up to the code.
  • BSD, gentleman goaltender and standup pantomine comedian, what a great find by the organization.
  • Andersson is awesome, that is all.
  • Eat Bread is awesome that is all
  • Yeah Buddy, that hit in the first period looked like an undertaker choke slam.
  • Coming off of a tough game last night, travelling to scum town and taking two points. We can complain all we want, but that's big time character.
  • Oh Edmonton, we can win games when our top player struggles or doesn't produce. Can you? Survey says Nooooooooooooo. And at certain angles McDavid reminds me of beaker from Seasame Street, same whining, same bad haircut, and its all about ME ME ME ME ME

That is all.

First 10 minutes definitely belonged to the Flames. But the Oilers pushed back and ended up with 17 shots. There were some weak calls tonight, but the Flames looked sluggish. Their legs seem to fade and their forecheck suffered.

Team still had some good chances no doubt, but I thought the Oilers were the better team for a lot of this game. We’ll see how the Oilers fair after a back to back against the Blues and then hoping on a plane to play a road game 24 hours later. Hopefully the Flames get a jump on them and cruise to a regulation victory.

It's sad how the hockey world is now going on about Gio's 'knee' on McDavid.

Gotta create a story line. Now we can all talk about it until the next game.

To be fair, the Giordano knee could have been a penalty. I don’t think he meant it but it was a somewhat dangerous play. However this game is played at a high speed so things happen. I think when the majority of fans and more importantly analysts think it was knee incident it’s probably true. Even if we want to tell ourselves it was clean and a hip check, if it was the other way around we wouldn’t be so forgiving. He does have a suspension for a similar hit so it’s not out of the realm of possibility. He’s a competitor and I’m sure it’s not malicious though.

I almost thought it was 1986 the way Tippet , Mcdavid and Drastaitl were whining at the refs. They looked just like Slater, 99 and 11. Suck it Edmonton b*&^%s!!!
