Same Media - That's not hockey!

I've never played hockey, so maybe I'm totally wrong, but I've always thought this when people assume post = beat goalie.

Well technically a post is not a shot on goal because they missed the net. I mean yeah the goalie might have played it perfectly leaving zero room to score, or the shooter had plenty of room and cut it too fine.
It seems to me that 9 times out of 10 when you hit the post as a shooter, you feel you had the goalie beat and just missed the net.
But goalies get to do what they want. They're weird and they talk to goalposts and stuff like that.

He's frustrating to watch , but he's there because he is defensively responsible and he can skate with the puck at an above average level.

That game definitely showed who is ready when the crap hits the fan, Kylington is better than Hanafin, Mangiapane is a competitor, Tkachuk is our captain now, and Rittich plays with zero fear. Unfortunately Gaudreau was pretty much a ghost...

Refs awarded the Oilers a point tonight. I know they didn’t get the tie goal on the PP but one sided calls forced the Flames to play with one hand behind their back all 3rd long. It was a joke, Flames PK was great.

Sure, but on 3 on 3 OT, he shouldn't even see the ice since he has shown no indication all season long that he'll contribute in setting up or making the game winning goal.

He's good at a lot of things, but he's been burned by making that pinch at least 4-5 times this season (that I can remember). Thankfully that's something that he can get better at.

Johnny was MIA for a lot of the game. Too bad. We need him. Lucic was way too quiet in a game like this. Probably too many personal ties, but this is the kind of game they brought him in for.
The broadcast crew was......I'll stop there. And for such a fun, intense, important game it just shows how the shootout has lost it's luster. Just keep going 3-on-3. Stupid way to decide a game.
Big two points. Let's pummel them on Saturday!

Bennett actually played the most minutes he ever has under Ward.
He hasn't played as much as he did tonight since the middle of october.

Rittich is just fantastic. What a character.
Snow angel and then kiss the post? That is just too good.

Buddy Robinson is just the type of player we need for the playoffs. Can we get 2 more?
