I don’t know what you were watching but I thought Johnny made some good defensive plays.

Yeah, Flames were pretty well in control I thought.

Then Binnington got pissed and unfortunately closed the door as a result, whereas Talbot left his swinging open.

One goal called back, I think they hit 4 posts, long stretches in the Flames zone. Having their way with Flames defence, Survived a 4-3 in OT.
The better team won.

I don’t know which goalie had a worse night. Talbot tonight or Eddy Belfour last night. Yeesh.

Although judging by Belfour’s smile, I would see he might have....

Sure can blame the PP on their performance in OT. Lots of open ice to move around in and they were, at best, tentative and tepid. They have the extra man and when the Blues had the puck NOBODY forced them with double coverage or an aggressive check. Very poor management.

High danger chances 12-3 Flames

But I'm not surprised by your take considering your history

There's no reason not to push with everything you have there.

The PP was eating up the entire remainder of OT. Like, go balls to the wall man. They played it like a second period 5 on 4, whereas they played all their previous man advantages like they were actually intent on scoring. This group confuses me with when they decide to go and when they hold back.

Could say the same thing about your crappy post regarding Johnny. (Poison)

Anyways took a point, would’ve faired better with some better goaltending. Short memory required as BOA tomorrow.

It's almost like Talbot hadn't started a game in 17 days. Go figure (yes I'm still annoyed that Ward started Rittich against Ottawa).

The problem this year has been scoring goals. We got four tonight so it's a start.

Thought the team looked great, except for Talbot and Kylington. Neither were ready to go and both contributed to the loss in my opinion. But the point is huge and much needed.

I find OT is no longer entertaining as it’s all about possession and curling back to ensure it is maintained instead of the good ol’ days of chances at each end every rush.

Coaches have ruined it much like they do everything that is high flying.

It’s gotten boring to me.

I also hate SO’s so extra time just sucks nowadays IMO.

Flames played well and could have easily won. We scored four, and looked dangerous in the offensive zone. Unfortunately Talbot was shaky.

Lots to like in this game.

But it's hard to not think Ward is in over his head, and that the Flames would benefit from a better coach.

It seems a little weird that Talbot has a better save % and GAA than Rittich, but even going back to the oilers, he was often a goalie that you could tell when he was not on his game early. I think most of us knew it wasn't his night after the first, and maybe switching him out between periods could have changed things.

Weird fact too that we're the only team currently in a playoff position with a minus in goals for/against--but that can be explained by the occasional terribad game by a goalie. I know the plan is to save everything for tomorrow night, but this game felt very winnable against a struggling team, and I suspect Edmonton is going to beat themselves tomorrow any way because they've been psyching themselves out since the last game.

Meh, not worried--beat the greasers tomorrow and be happy we got the point after the last Blues goal was offside.

Kylington doesn’t deserve to be in the same conversation as Talbot.

One made a big mistake that cost us and progressively got better afterwards.

The other couldn’t make a key save all night.

Didn’t the Flames have more high danger chances in the Ottawa game as well?
Save the dramatics.

This week will say a lot about if Ward is cut out for the position I think.
