Canucks have been playing with the lead more often than not recently. It’s not surprising teams playing catch-up would try to generate more shots on net usually.
Also, your right. Canucks have scored way more goals but are only ahead by a few points in the standings. Not efficient at all but I take this as a sign of potential. A young team still figuring things out. When they get to that point and their players mature a little more we could be seeing the results on top of the goals scored

Canucks had 11 high danger chances to the Blues 8. So while Demko had more saves Allen had tougher saves.
I thought the Pettersson could have had 3 goals the first 10 minutes of the game but Allen was up to the task.

All the Canuck fans are out in full force tonight lol
fine it was an outstanding effort...allowing 37 shots on home ice is a recipe for success
Goalie sucks balls and wasn't why they won, who is the moron that gave him first star? was in Garrett that goalie lover?
Barca you forgot to thank Hockey's post, your radar for pro Canuck posts must be malfunctioning

The canucks are opportunistic, like the oilers (duo). And both teams top players have somewhat inflated stats and shooting percentages (and PP for the oil) which is helping them a lot. But neither team is exactly "taking it" to other teams most nights. They cash in on the breaks they get/generate.
|
That's true for sure. Not an elite team driving play like the Blues. But they have a lot of skill. Similar to the Flames as opposed to the top-heavy Oil.

We needed this though. Hopefully this race in the pacific lasts right up to the end, with Canucks winning of course. Hockey is more fun when rival teams are battling it out.

Yeah the Canucks have legitimate skill distributed further down their line up, like the Flames.
I do think their stats are inflated this season and they're having somewhat of what the Flames experienced last season statistically. The goals are going in for them in bunches. They're skilled, but I think they're scoring beyond what will be normal for some of this guys, especially given that they're not driving play like you say.
They're having their 2015 year, where a bunch of young guys are playing with a ton of confidence. The teams development won't be linear though. As we've learned through our own rebuild.
Basically, enjoy it and don't get cocky is what I'd say.

Don't disagree with you liking this version of them better than the Kesler/Burrows/Bieksa crew--but their fanbase still sucks.

Exibit A on what the previous poster was saying about Canuck fans...cocky rocky
Its funny how the Oilers and Canuck fans are having their dream seasons, basically tied with the Flames debacle of a season

Sweet Summer child, as if I am not always this pleasant. If I didn't know better, I'd say GoJetsGo had taken over your account. You're incredibly salty and I have no idea why.
Also, I don't know if the Canucks are having my dream season but if be lying if I said I wasn't thrilled with how it has been going for a young team.

Gentlemen, Gentlemen, please in this era of increasingly fractious political separation and online bullying and abuse can we not let the better angels of our nature lead us and find some common humanity and friendship, can we not find solace and agreement in a shared higher value, that we both agree the Oilers are no effing good?

I'd always presumed that was implied and didn't need stating.

Dating back to the 2009-2010 season the Canucks are 18-13-2-3 vs the Blues. Although outscored 88-91.
