It would be hilarious if, while he has his head on a swivel for Tkachuk, Bennett comes in and lays him out. However if he attacked Bennett, I don't think there would be any gamesmanship. Bennett would just murder him right there.

Is Edmonton media still talking about this? Those people need to get a life as while it made for a good game I just don't understand the fixation on this as the league deemed the hits clean end of story and if anything it's a bad look on Kassain throwing punches at a defenseless player that did not want to engage.

What a bonehead!

This is really not a smart thing to say. He should know that the league is monitoring him. After advertising his intentions, if he were to injure anyone, even by accident, he is going to get the book thrown at home.

That said, wonder how tough he is going to be if it is Lucic that hits him...

At what point is a player suspended for this kind of talk? Why is this acceptable?

Kassian was suspended for what he did, and he says he's just going to do it again? Isn't the point of suspensions to deter?

I don’t get why he keeps going on about this. Tkachuk targeted him with three borderline legal hits, hoping to get him unhinged. Kassian loses it, horsecollars him, slams him to the ice and pummels him a few times, to the point where he gets a penalty and a suspension. So what’s his problem? He got a few punishing hits in, and undoubtedly inflicted some pain without having to deal with any hits to his own head. Is he unhappy because he didn’t get in enough hits or cause permanent injuries? As pointed out in earlier posts, his continuing torrent of threats ought to be putting him in danger of more fines or suspensions.

I think he feels emboldened by all the support he's getting from other NHLers. They seem to think he did the right thing so he feels like a hero or something.

Kassian is showing just how low his IQ is. He talks like he is just out of prison and on a meth binge and is gonna get the dude who stole his girl while he was in while calling the police telling them what he is going to do. Really dumb. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up with a 20+ game suspension for Kassian or criminal charges. But then again this is a guy with a history of doing stupid things. He doesn't seem like someone who is sober and thinking straight.

Ryan Smyth was the last truly dumb Edmonton Oiler, but he had a heart of gold. Kassian is stupid dangerous.

The league put the Oilers and Flames management on a conference call a couple days ago and told them they had better cool the whole situation down. And Kassian is still shooting his mouth off. Wouldn't be surprised to see fines coming Edmonton's way. What an idiot.

Kassian is an idiot, if he does anything now after threatening it, the NHL is really going to have to throw the book at him.

I expect that in the pregame warmup the NHL is going to make sure they have officials on the ice. Because now this is seriously becoming a job for Lucic and Rinaldo to go in and cool things down before the game starts.

Also Kassian is so selfish and stupid that he doesn't realize that the Oilers are seriously outgunned in terms of players that can role out a real nasty group of players. Lucic, Rinaldo, Bennett let loose is something that they can't deal with.

I wouldn't be surprised if Treliving got on the phone after hearing Kassian's comments and reamed the league out for making sure that Kassian was in the lineup for the re match.

Player A hits Player B with two legal body checks and separate points in the game.

Player B then attacks Player A from behind giving Player A no realistic chance to defend himself.

Player B receives 14 minutes in penalties and costs his team the game.

Player B returns to the ice after serving his penalties and is hit cleanly a third time by Player A.

Player B is suspended for two games while Player A receives no further penalties as the hits were determined to be legal.

This is where it gets insane:

Player B is hailed as a hero in the media and Player A is accused of turtling.

Player A is also accused of ignoring “the code”.

Player A is accused of being afraid of Player B despite targeting Player B later in the game.

When you take the teams out of it, this whole situation is ridiculous. There is an absolute bias in the media towards Edmonton and quite frankly their line of thinking (if you can call it thinking) is extremely flawed. “The Code” as I understand it is that if you throw a hit on a player and it is dirty, seriously injures someone, or that player is a star you should fight. That is barbaric but I can understand it. Unfortunately for Kassian the hits were not dirty, he suffered no injuries other than to his ego, and he is not a star. In no world does this make believe code with a very loose definition apply here.

The code is also against throwing punches at a vulnerable player on the ice unless that player on the ice keeps fighting.

Kassian ignored the code multiple times

The League even said Tkachuk had no ability to defend himself by fighting back.

No doubt Tkachuk has had numerous media requests but hasn't said word Ike about it beyond the day after. Kassian is still seething while claiming he loves it.

It's story one in Edmonton, the next game is their superbowl.

I know people complain what a library the Saddledome is, how reserved Flames fans can be.. But I'll take that over being defined by a sports team like Edmonton is.

It's exactly what you would think it was. I've listened to the Kassian episode just because, but I skipped large sections where they're talking about the Bachelor or generally busting each others' balls like a couple of BRUHs that you just knew they were. Pretty unbearable.

https://kesandjuice.com/

If you want to listen to the Kassian part it's at 39:30.

Didn't they say at one point in the podcast that they thought Torres' hits were clean? If the fact that Kesler and Bieksa are discussing it didn't already do it, THAT puts the dumbass seal of approval on it right there without argument.
