Where?
Perhaps you should back up what you\'re saying instead of just spouting something off and expecting all of us to believe you.
I already asked for a link, and you didn\'t provide one, so I assume you\'re full of it.

And yes he does have the right to think god put him there, just like I have the right to believe I\'m Gordie Howe. Luckily my Howesian Delusions don\'t lead to anything further than me walking around town next to Ferris Bueller.

And I\'m sure you\'ll have the same opinion towards Obama, who also happens to be a Christian, and will also say God put him into power.

FWIW, I've heard this too, though not specifically in relation to Iraq--but that Bush believes that he is on a mission to do god's work while he is president. I've never seen a direct quote, but I've heard it multiple times. I realize that doesn't make it true, and it may be like many other things that are commonly believed but actually BS. Who knows?
But either way, I hope Obama (if he wins) doesn't think like that. To me, religion is a private matter. Public life should be secular, end of story. Not that very many U.S. politicians follow that rule.
P.S.--where you been, Azure!? Good to see you back!

Been very busy. Good to be back though.
I also hope Obama leaves his religious life out of whatever political gain he makes. But you know as well as I do that the religious people will demand answers from him....and he will have no choice but to answer.
They're already attacking his 'so-called' Muslim background, I mean seriously.
I want change....big time...and Obama is the only person who could possibly do that. Hillary is already backing away from the responsibility the next President WILL have, by asking Bush to pull all troops from Iraq before he leaves office.

This crusade, this war on terrorism is going to take a while. And the American people must be patient. I'm going to be patient. But I can assure the American people I am determined, I'm not going to be distracted, I will keep my focus to make sure that not only are these brought to justice, but anybody who's been associated will be brought to justice. Those who harbor terrorists will be brought to justice. It is time for us to win the first war of the 21st century decisively, so that our children and our grandchildren can live peacefully into the 21st century.
George W. Bush
White House press conference, September 16, 2001

There is your precious link. I hope it's not too leftie for you.
And yes, I will have the same opinion of Obama if he says the voices in his head told him to start a war.

I think that's a pretty fringe attack, really. Calgaryborn posted a link to a story on insight magazine about this that has since been thoroughly debunked. CNN ran an expose that showed that the story was essentially a pack of lies--the so-called "sources" were insight magazine's own imaginary friends. A low blow, but one that hopefully won't gain much traction.

So you think by calling the war on terrorism a 'crusade' he is automatically making it a religious war?
Either way....I get your point.
The second quote means nothing...I believe the exact same thing. We were born to be free spirits...not to be held under some sort of tyranny. And I'm sure you believe the same thing.
And no its not to leftie for me...why on earth would a website that cited those quotes be to leftie?

Hopefully people will lay it to rest then. Its a lot worse then a low blow.
It also exemplifies what is wrong with American politics. People would rather attack the personal life of another candidate than focus on his political beliefs.
