Something is up with Sportsnet then, because they always have had the lighting issue, but when TSN done games in the past (and perhaps there's been Jets games in the Dome that were on TSN that AC could vouch for), their lighting has been fine.
Maybe TSN broadcast has different calibration settings that makes it look more natural? But every other Sportsnet broadcast for any other team is fine. So what's different about Sportsnet Flames?

I really hope Rick Ball comes over. I’ve found the quality of TSN has greatly diminished in recent years. It used to be no contest but I find myself hating TSN almost as much as Sportsnet.

I figure Sportsnet knows what they have in Rick Ball, and would be looking to promote him to national level. If not, TSN would be fortunate to have him, and hopefully they keep him with Flames.

So what if TSN isn't the only go to? Here's an off the wall thought - what if Shaw picks up regional broadcast rights for the Flames?
- Shaw's western canadian cable operations largely cover Flames territory
- Shaw / Corus is big on owning content to drive subscribers - and sports content is the most desirable of them all
- Could be an arrangement like CBC where SN continues to produce the show (for a fee) and Shaw distributes exclusively (sorry Telus customers)
- Shaw's base of operations is Calgary
- The Shaw's can be nutty enough to do something like this
- The existing public access community broadcaster vibe, budget and look of SN will fit right in with.....Shaw's own Ch. 10 community broadcaster vibe, budget and look..

I mean, let's be honest. There have been times when I would have rather watched a live stream from someone's iPhone sitting in the nosebleeds than SNET's broadcast.

I said it in the GDT, an all canadian game (Flames at Senators) on a Saturday not being a national game is plain stupid. Why the hell is the Coyotes-Oilers game a national one? Wake the bleep up Sportsnet.

I'm lucky my wife is a Flames fan and we watch all the games. I hear the broadcasts but don't much care. She is not a "hockey" fan though. So when I watch other teams play on the tube, I mute the play by play and have rock n roll playing instead. Try it sometime. Awful lot of fans get hung up on the broadcasters. I've watched enough hockey that I think I know whats going on without being spoon fed.
Then compare what you saw to what the writers saw.
FWIW Sportsnets comment section is just one troll calling names at another troll whos putting down some other trolls team.

SN has made it very clear they love the Oilers and could care less about the Flames multiple times. I don't care who gets the next Flames regional contract deal, just not SN. TSN, TVO, Treehouse, IDGAF, just not SN.

Everytime I'm in California I watch a FSN hockey game and just marvel at how crisp and clear their picture is. Good riddance to SN and their crappy quality feeds

It is a small thing, but, from this link https://now.sportsnet.ca/schedule?type=tvlisting notice how Sportsnet has put the Ontario programming at the top of the grid. Since Sportsnet's inception, the order has always been Pacific, West, Ontario, and East. On other links, it was the same way or reversed.

Guy Smiley is a better than 90% of the Sportsnets on air personalities.
