I've been playing and talking about Escape from Tarkov for a couple years now.

It's currently the highest viewed game on Twitch right now - check it out.

Still so torn on it, the gunplay looks like something I'd like but I hate games that you play for loot and gear so so much

Its a cruel mistress, but I tell you its not a relaxing game its the type of game that you know something is going to happen but don't know when so when it does it startles you twice as much. Then sometimes you don't see anyone and just loot and go the game is crazy.

See that all sounds awesome except for the looting part.

You can also play offline and the game is the same without human players(PMC or SCAV) which is great for learning maps, safely playing with gear before using in a live raid.

SCAV runs (The bad guys) are a good way to get free loot as you zone in with random gear and anything you leave with can be transferred to your PMC (Main Character)

When playing as a PMC you have a small safe container that whatever items are put into it you keep which is good for quest items or expensive items you find like Labs keycards which people also take advantage of doing "hatchet" runs where you zone in with only your hatchet which you can't lose and search for loot to safely stash. This used to be done a lot more before they added the need to heal before next raid feature. Also there is insurance so you can insure whatever gear you want before a raid and if no one successfully extracts with it you will get it back in about 8-10 hours depending on who you use and what your level with them is. A good strat if playing with someone and they die is to take their gear and ditch it in a bush for them.

Last patch they also added the hideout which you upgrade to do different things including a shooting range for gun testing, making currency, meds, etc.

I don't play nearly as much as I would like and I still have so much to learn but I can extract fairly consistent and there is no shame in hiding while sweaty players fight it out and then moving in to grab the scraps as there isn't enough room for them to take everything.

You will die a lot, you will get frustrated a lot but those times you succeed you forget the bad times.

Just replayed A Link to the Past over the last couple days. Man has that game aged well. A complete treat to play and solve. Best game of all time in my books.

There's a reason that it's easily the most popular randomizer race.

I messed around with Final Fantasy 2 randomizer a few months back it was pretty fun. I imagine LTP would be as or more fun than that.

Marques is one of the best tech guys on Youtube, but I was actually yelling at my screen "You're doing it wrong!" watching him trying to boot up Sonic for the first time

It's a classic.

Though perspnally I'd put Majora's Mask, Oracle of Ages/Seasons, Skyward Sword, and Link's Awakening DX ahead of it.

I wanted to put this up here, just because its an amazing mod to the old Empire at War game and is absolutely gorgeous right now the mod focuses on space combat but land combat is coming. But it makes a game that I really liked a lot more fresh.

So I got a Nintendo switch over Christmas. Came with Breath of the Wild which I really wanted. Took some time to get used to that game but holy crap is that a fun game.

And then enters Super Mario Cart? Sweet mother of all that is holy, I don't recall the last time I had this much fun with a console.

My fiance and I actually stayed up until 2AM playing Mario Cart on Friday. Did the Grand Prix thing and wow, seemed like each course got better and better. We just couldn't put the controls down. Had to stop for a snack at 1am so we could continue.

Bravo Nintendo, I'm thoroughly impressed with your map makers and the thought put into these two games so far. With the cold weather this week, this is exactly the distraction we needed.

Mario Kart 8 is a masterpiece, handily the best game in the series.

It's so bloody hard trying to get 3 stars on 150 or 200cc though, even when I play the first 3 races perfectly there's always some bull#### that happens on the 4th that ruins it
