Zero consistency this year. Twice they had win streaks in spite of their efforts in some of those games. If they're going to lose its rather see a less frustrating performance.

Can we permanently end Backlund with Monahan and Gaudreau? I'd love to see Ryan try that spot.

Ryan is too good at C, though

More of a Reference to how that seems to be your go to thing.

You do you though. Just an observation on my part.

Flames have one less game than Arizona.

Still in first place for tonight.

That will change tomorrow unless Flames have an unreal OOT.

? No they don't. The two teams now have identical records, Arizona just has one more regulation win.

Score app clearly hasn’t updated things. I’m looking at 47 games for Calgary on there.

Weird. That app is usually pretty good for fast updates.

Close game, liked the Flames' effort - Price was all-star.

If this Tkachuk-Lindholm-Mangiapane thing is gonna continue, Monahan and Gaudreau need a winger. Backlund doesn't cut it.

Anyone know what Hudler is up to?

Game Takes:
Habs 2 Flames 0

- Flames no show in Montreal
- Third period push too little too late
- Mangiapane falls down several times

Carey Price sure looks like a $10.5M goalie...

I really like Geoff Ward, he's a nice guy, a good story, but this team just does not look like they are well coached.

The Oilers are the only team of late that has not been able to hem the Flames in their own zone for eternity. That's really just a reflection of what the Oilers are, McDavid and Draisatl who just score nice goals off the rush.

It's painful watching the Flames defend. They have no idea how to defend. It's like the only way it ends is if the puck goes out of play, or the opposition bumbles the play, or the opposition scores, or the Flames take a penalty. It's rarely because the Flames had a nice defensive stop.

The effort was one thing that I thought was pretty terrible, especially in the 1st where they were badly outplayed. Some spots here and there where they looked slightly better but they looked like a team that just came off an emotional win and had no gas. Onto the next one.

When they can't play consistently good in the regular season against non playoff teams, how are they supposed to do well in the playoffs? I will always be a Flames fan but I have 0 faith in this team to have long term success.

And the Canucks are one point behind with 2 games in hand.

That’s how close teams are bunched.

That's not the problem. For over a year, Monahan and Gaudreau have needed to be split up 5v5. Lindholm and Monahan should be swapped with each other.
