I have no idea who you are at all. Reading your takes tells me you don't know much about hockey.
Canucks fan? Makes sense.

I love Tkachuk.
Everybody else is just jealous we have him.
If he played for say Toronto everybody would be praising his efforts and skills.

It was Lomberg who jumped Dumba after he threw a dirty hit on Backlund that caused an injury. He didn't chase him around. He came off the bench and skated right at Dumba and jumped him.
Tkachuk and Dumba fought at the start of the next game between the teams.

Whose side were you on when Jarko Ruutu pretended to be about to drop the gloves with Phaneuf, then just tripped him and skated away when Phaneuf dropped his, leaving him to get the lone penalty? I bet you were on the Ruutu side. Would it have been justifiable to commit a violent suspendable act against him because he wouldn't fight?

Kadri has had the same number of fights.
Wilson has almost FORTY fights, and not in the same tier as the other three players.
Edit: He also dropped the gloves with Muzzin, but was trolled , didn't fight, and was thrown in the box for trying to "follow the code".

Yeah I agree its not a dis against Wilson, but different category as for the other 3
Tkachuk career .79 PPG 0.026 fights/game
Marchand 0.85 ppg 0.012 fights/game
Kadri .64 PPG 0.018 fights/game
if we concede these guys are all very good players, who play on the edge (dirty at times) and hated by all outside of their families and fans of their home team- well Tkachuk doesn't seem to need to defend his 'fighting' resume
now sure I'll concede guys like this do need to back it up at times - and I get it if that's what the ex-jocks are trying to tell us, but I am shocked that they seem to be unanimous that he's supposed to do it in a tie game, while the play is underway and where (and lets be honest NHL Player safety isn't exactly known to be the Flames best friend either- just saying I don't think they have a specific pro-Flames bias) point out on this specific play- how was he supposed to engage Kassian?

The only thing funnier than the coilers fanboys losing their mind is the mythical creation of ‘the code’ in the last couple days. What a load of ####.
Gilmour could have carved Semenkos eye out - and would have tried every game- and would never be expected to fight him. Glenn Anderson helped create a rule for all the times he accidentally on purpose high sticked someone’s face and he might have fought the same his whole 80s career than Tkachuk has already. How many times did mike Peca fight? Jarome Iginla would hit or fight anyone but how many were against goons? A couple? It made Iginla the exception not the norm.
Skilled players don’t fight goons for hits - or any other reason. There have been a couple exceptions (I think Stevens flight anyone) but it’s not a thing.

Kassian needs a teammate to show him how to do up his helmet strap so his helmet doesn't pop off his pointy little head all the time. Wouldn't it be a good thing to make this man, considering his record, do some time in anger management or find similar help. He is mentally unstable and a threat to the safety of other players. Who knows what he'll do next.

The ONLY opinion that matters on this is the NHL Department of Player Safety and they agree with the Flames and Tkachuk here.
I don’t care what some bonehead 4th liner like Scottie Upshall or Georges Laroque think or what a bunch of mouth breathing tools on HF and Twitter think.
The fact that it’s Matthew Tkachuk automatically makes people biased because of his reputation. If this was team white vs team black and both guys were no names I can guarantee you the perception would be VERY different.

I am done with sportsnet and their resident oil fanboys. Hello TSN. It’s not even the constant McDavid fellating. The final straw is defending the player I hate most in the league- the caveman.

If he plays for Toronto and Kassian did that to him? Everybody would be screaming Kassian deserved 10 games minimum.

One thing that is lost in all this, Tkachuk was hitting Kassian. Not McAvi. Not Rai. Not RNH.
He was hitting Kassian. Who, by his own admission, loves that part of the game.
The people in Edmonton and even some in the media say maybe Edmonton should target Johnny. That is not the same. That is not apples to apples. If Edmonton wants revenge, feel free to target Lucic. Or hey, feel free to target Tkachuk. He doesn’t care. If they target Tkachuk, he is getting what he wants. He is getting Edmotnon off their game.
But to say that because your skill guy hit our tough guy, we are going to target your skill guy - that is Edmonton being Edmonton.

only lost to the mouth breathers...
even kaveman himself said he loved the hitting; just thought Tkachuk should have answered the bell... at that point in the game that would have been a stupid thing to do...

At the end of the day, when the NHL starts preaching that they give a crap about player safety or about head injuries I'm just going to laugh. They had a chance to throw the book at a player that pretty much suckered MT and then threw punches at a vulnerable player on the ice. Then gave him a weak slap on the wrist and made sure that a guy who made a threat to hit a player in a vulnerable position in the next game would be in the lineup.
Player safety department my arse.

Like Kassian tried to do in the third period, and Tkachuk sidestepped him.
