The Rangers pounded the Islanders, 6-2. Panarin had 5 points. Both teams had lots of shots, 36-34 in favour of the Rangers. The difference was the Islanders had inferior goaltending. Samsonov with the 23 save SHUTOUT in the Capitals 2-0 win over the Hurricanes.
