I think this last 48 hours is damning proof that there is an absolute bias in the national media to favour the Oilers (more specifically whatever team Connor McDavid is on).
There were no dirty hits by Tkachuk. A player should not have to answer the bell for playing a hard, physical, and clean game. What Kassian did was borderline criminal.
I’m so happy the NHL hasn’t fallen into the hysteria the media has. Ray Ferraro comparing that to Raffi Torres is a joke, though Ray is a joke himself.

The thing that proves the bias to me is even if the Tkachuk hit was dirty, the media is making it seem like it's either Tkachuk is bad, or Kassian is bad. Completely ignoring that it's possible for it be both.
They focus on the anti-Tkachuk narrative completely ignoring that it still wouldn't even come close to excusing Kassian's outburst

I'm stunned at all the hockey people coming out and defending Kassian and/or blaming Tkachuk. Post-truth world we're living in. Nothing wrong with hard legal hits, and the league probably could use more of them. I remember when the boards used to rattle almost every shift. Now you hardly ever hear it.

Because players are often the worst people to listen to in terms of what the game needs.
If it was up to the players no one would wear helmets.

Reading on HF I feel like I've entered the twilight zone where nobody knows #### all about hockey except me.
I hope DPS doesn't cave to media pressure. 5 games!!!

Only issue I have with that is a travel a lot for work, at least TSN regional coverage I'd be able to see it in High Level, for example

HF is hilarious. It's just seeing what fanbase can out troll each other.
It appears all the adults have long since moved to reddit

You are just realizing this about HF now???? That board is an embarrassment to hockey. It is like they took the stupidest hockey fans ever and sentenced them all to one board. The only purpose that place serves is for the ATL material.

It almost seems like a lot of the national media, former players, etc. weighing in don't realize that the Flames scored the game winner on the PP that was given to Kassian. I keep seeing/hearing praise for him for standing up for himself and what not, but he cost them the game...
They just woke up Sunday morning, saw the hits and fights, and don't know the rest. If you'd rather punch a guy who hit you than win, then I'm not sure what to say...
