Interesting that it says for his play. I agree it deserves sanction. I also think though, that they might do something about his public comments afterwards.
Wasn't Hughson also the one saying "you can't call a charge on that?" when referring to the Tkachuk hit. Where the other commentator said "no, it's clean".
Or was it vice-versa?
I didn’t interpret Hughson has implying there should be a charge called. I took it as he meant “that’s clean, no charge on that”. But maybe I’m wrong. I can’t stand the guy so it’s not like I’m looking for excuses.
The missed call on Bennett was ridiculous. The crowd erupted (could actually hear it on sportsnet #### sound levels) and he just continued on like nothing happened!

While I don't think there should be any punishment for him.using the word ##### I think the NHL should have a conversation and issue a warning. I believe That word is heavily rooted in misogyny and probably not a great look for the league as a whole.
My two cents.

I think another cherry on top of the Kassian thing, was the in house crunch of the game announcement. "Hit of the game was Tkachuk, not once, not twice, but three times against Kassian."

He is a 4th liner, who gets too much ice time and gets to play with the best player in the league. He has some physical tools, but at this point fighting is leaving the game and guys like him who need to fight to keep their tempers will also be phased out if they don't evolve.
Really sweet because the Oiler media were crowing how the Oilers would no doubt win this game and hsd 9 points in the bank from this road trip. I guess not.
But no doubt Tkachuck is a pain in the ass. I know all the Oiler fans at work always talk about him and what he gets away with. HR will be reminding me by midweek that it's a hatecrime to tell my coworkers that they are neanderthals.

the first hit was a little on the edge, but the second one was totally clean...Charge? One could put up a 10 min replay package of Kassian literally doing the exact same thing...

Great performance by the Flames. Typical Oiler performance. Score flattered the Oilers and could have been even worse. McDavid is still the most dangerous player in the game, for both teams. Incredibly skilled and fast, but only plays hard toward the opposition net. He's dangerous on every rush, but he's equally dangerous for the Oilers because he doesn't play any defense.
Flames really played well. Not a bad performance by a Flame player IMO. All of the "kids" were fantastic tonight. Andersson and Kylington were awesome with the exception of one shift. Dube and Mangipane were good in both ends and put pressure on the Oilers all night. Bennett even looked good. Most important thing is that Bennett didn't take any penalties, unlike his counterpart wearing 44 for the Oilers. Tkachuk needs no praise. His awesomeness can be seen from space. Was really impressed by our young guys. Great win!
Yes all the young guys were great! Young forwards carried the puck with confidence. Young D were fantastic in all facets. So much compete, skill and pace.
I remember Doughty goading Chucky into whipping his gloves off and then not fighting, resulting in a penalty to Matty. I was so mad. It's so much better when you're on the other side and this is like that but taken up to 11 (BoA, PP GWG and Kassian hearing).
Tkachuk showed you all game why you’re a 4th liner. You can’t skate with the puck without staring at it. He was making a point. Basically made a mockery of your “13 goals” and toughness in the same evening. Tkachuk is half his size and he blew him up 3 times.
See the slo mo of Kassians shot on Talbot on the break? He jumped in the air to take it. Never seen such a thing.

We need a gif of Kassian in the penalty box saying “what’s in this water?”
He’s only ever had Edmontonian water so he doesn’t know what real water tastes like?
Or we could have a gif of Kassian signing in Edmonton, then that clip of him saying “what’s in the water” and then that news article about the meth or something.

throws him to the ice three times and throws ten punches. dirty dirty stuff
all this answer the bell stuff is BS too, that was an attack. no time for tkachuk to do anything, he was attacked from behind by a guy who just had his pride wounded. selfish idiotic behaviour i hope he gets hammered with a suspension like 7 or 8 games.
Yeah Jimmy, it's the linesman's fault for not getting in between caveman and Tkachuk. #### he's an idiot.

I took it like he was looking what could be called, saying maybe a charge? Then afterwards he reluctantly agreed it was clean. He hates the Flames.
People up there keep saying charge - none of the hits were. Then they say hit from behind, but none of them were. Then they go to “direct hit to the head on the first hit”. Well, that can be debated I guess but even there, it’s incorrect. First, the principal point of contact was Kassian’s torso and second, his head was at waist level for some reason.
