Horrible situation for the kids to witness but sounds like things are trending the right direction with his health. And kudos to the Managment team for making the right decision not playing the game.

Kinda crap that the team had to forfeit. Some things are bigger than hockey and someone’s health is definitely on that list.

It's a bit different economics in the AHL. It's a bus league and teams rarely play outside their division. It's essentially four regional leagues under one umbrella.

The Marlies may make one trip outside their division a season. (Stockton, for example traveled to Des Moines to play the Iowa Wild).

It likely makes more dollar sense to forfeit than to make up the game than to budget in another road trip. MLSE could no doubt afford it, but other AHL teams with local ownership might feel the pinch.
