....Any other contenders I should be considering? Thanks!
Rocky mountain suzy q - no suspension fork though. current bike shop list price is $2,800
as an aside, i was recently perusing Calgary's various bike shops for a potential new commuter rig and i noted that almost all bike shops in calgary seem to use the same underlying website engine and their list prices are almost all identical (i'd assume this is driven by most of them using the same website engine)

Prices are close to identical is because we all use the same distributors . Then the slight price varients are dependent on what level of dealer you are either no discount meaning you barely order, bronze, silver, gold or platinum. Their's only around 5 companies that carry the majority of brands. Then their is a handful that specialize in niche brands and then dealer/consumer direct brands round out the minority left.

I forgot to mention in my last post a couple of bikes.
Surly ICT which Is what I originally wanted over the wozo but the distributor here I could only get a complete and not a frameset in Canada. Which pissed me off cuz I hate that they switched to there own parent company to distribute in Canada because they are harder to deal with .
Surly Wednesday. Just a smaller version of the ict of you don't need to run a 5 inch. Better q factor for some riders as it's only a 177mm rear instead of 197mm.
Fatback Rhino FLt. Fat back makes one of the nicest fatbikes I have ridden called the Corvis which came on the scale at 23lbs . The rhino is an aluminum veraion with mastodon.
Thanks for the awesome breakdown and suggestions! (NorthEndZone as well)
Any LBS carry Kona Wozo, that Salsa Beargrease SX, Surly Wednesday, and/or Fatback Rhino Flt?
I do have a "skinny" bike (Santa Cruz TB3) so mostly looking for a winter bike, but of course, nice to have flexibility!
Logged almost 40k today on my fat bike - about 22k on single track. Could easily be on of my top rides of the year in terms of weather and scenery as fish creek was unbelievable this morning with all the snow in the trees and the sunLight breaking thru

Wow, the single track in the bow bottom are and fish creek is currently stellar pack snow-crete. Those of you with bikes built by colnago could likely navigate the single track.
Logged almost 300k this month including 42 today to finish with 3,650 for the year. I wanted to finish with an average of 10/k per day.
42k on a fat bike post-Christmas is a lot of work

I put in just over 2,500 K for 2019, starting tracking on Strava June 27. Almost all of it was commuting to work. That was my goal, so I needed a bit of weekend work recently to get there. I went for a buzz around the Glenmore reservoir last Saturday just before dusk and was rewarded with seeing a great grey owl just off the pathway.....a very cool sight!

I finished the year with 7,606 kms, beating my goal of 6,000 kms and last year's total of 5,273 kms. I only had 704 kms in the first four months combined, but I finally got into it in May. The furthest I cycled in one month was July, when I cycled 1,295 kms. My total elevation climbed for the year was 73,814 metres, with my biggest month being 12,105 metres climbed in September, with only 879 kms ridden.
My two most memorable rides were both in Costa Rica. One was a group ride of 10 of us, including a two time Panama national champion and a world class triathlete, covering 145 kms and 2,946 metres of ascent. Four days later four of us cycled up Volcano Irazu, going from 1,428 metres above sea level to 3,238 metres above sea level in 33 kms.
I joined a race team and was a part of several team wins in crits and road races. My best individual crit finish was a fourth place at UBC after solo bridging to the lead group with 3 laps to go. I won the 50 km Valley fondo road race by over 3:00 minutes. I qualified for the UCI GranFondo World Championships being held in September 2020.
My goals for this year are to ride at least 10,000 kms, be part of a breakaway that stays away in a crit or road race, and to win a crit race.

Almost 25k today for the maiden voyage of 2020 - was a bit of a slog as it snowed last night and the paths were not plodded when I was out this morning.
Going to start on my disassembly/clean/grease all the pivot points on my Thunderbolt. Ordered new tires and whatnot from jensen that should be sitting on my desk when I get back to the shop next week.

Yeah, I really got myself into a situation by not doing enough winter maintenance. Part of my issue, since my crash last spring most of my rides have been the last 3 km into work. So I've been bringing the bike on the back of the car the first 25km, and riding in from there. Well all of that road splash onto my bike did some damage, and found out when I went to grease it up over the break. The bike is at MEC right now, and they are quoting almost $300 to get it back into shape. It's only a $600 bike, but what can I do?
Going forward, the bike will be inside the car- and they have also showed me the right way to clean and grease everything.
Awesome video. I've been trying to tell this to customers for years . Because of the 650b renaissance and tubless people are slowly excepting this truth finally. Roadies are still the hardest to get through to especially the older guys.

Hey, this could be the wrong crowd, but if anyone is looking for a cool ebike for an insane price, Rad Power Bikes is blowing out their 2019 bikes. Regular price is $1999 to your door and they're on for $1399 right now. You can knock of another $100 with this coupon code: "time4anotherrad". The code worked for me last night on a fat bike.
My friend has one of these and it's awesome. The price is great. I have a Sondors folding ebike right now and I like it, but the quality of the Rads is better for sure.
There are better ebikes out there, but not at this price.

That’s the same price as buying a kit with a decent battery and converting an existing bike plus you get a bike. Must resist pulling the trigger
If they had the regular city I would have bought it immediately.
If you leased an eBike at this rate, it would be cheaper than not if you used that over a car. This would be an amazing thing. Too bad North America is designed around the car.
